Ireland leading 41-19 against USA after 65 minutes. Eagles have got sharper in the second half with their Irish-born outhalf, AJ McGinty leading the troops. Another Irish-born player, flanker John Quill, blocked Carberry's kick in his 22 and got over for the Eagles second try.
Ireland losing discipline and shape with a lot of changes and new caps but then steadied the ship with Earls making a mazy run through defence before passing to replacement, Leinster lock, James Ryan to get the ball for the first time in the match and score on his international debut. Last season's U20 captain, Ryan has got his first international cap and try before even playing for Leinster seniors. Hopefully one for the future.

@Chris-B. Yes, I was wondering about that when he was named in the team to play Wales. He has a contract with the Crusaders/NZR through to 2018, but maybe he wants to leave after that? He's been at the Saders since 2016, but only earned 5 caps (and rightly so). Maybe he knows something that we don't know yet, such as Hall re-signing for next season?
-
@Chris-B. Yes, Hall is on a one-year contract, but has indicated that he'd like to stay. I don't see them finding another, better halfback for next season. TJP hasn't re-signed with the Canes yet, but won't move to another NZ franchise; Kayne Hammington might be free, but isn't better than Hall; and not sure for how long Finlay Christie has signed with the Chiefs, but also isn't a better option IMO. Brad Weber is the only better halfback I can think of, who is off-contract. But why would he move away from the Chiefs now that TKB is leaving?

TNW is not up to Test level rugby.

I don't understand Los'e's commentary about Tonga going to the RWC; they'd already qualified if Samoa didn't win against Fiji or lose by less than seven. Nothing to do with points differentials once the score was beyond that.

No they didn't. Qualification was based on this year AND last years PNC.
