I remember going to the weigh-ins for school boxing registration as a 3rd former, and being told that I was 81kgs so in with the heavyweights....

I promptly withdraw from the tournament

haha holy shit!! i didn't grow at all until i was 16. so in 3rd form i was all feet, ears and mouth. 45 ringing wet i reckon.

    what a fuckin unit!

Yeah, it doesn't sound right as I read it, in thinking that through I must have been in 5th form not 3rd. I have always been heavy though, if I got to 93kgs now I'd have a 6 pack.

    Of beer ?

Don’t try and bullshit us, fatty.

Solid effort. Do some rope climbs too for some functional strength.

@Paekakboyz have you been watching Dom Mazetti again ?

I’m just talking about next workout, he’ll take a few days to recover from the pull ups I’m sure.

Mind you does 10 even count at his weight ?

@mariner4life damn, now I'm gonna have to see how many I can do!

    Surely the latter happens regardless?

Snap ! Dropped the Mrs to work with thoughts of this thread echoing in my brain, saw that the park was empty and went out and did 19 ( chins ).

Not sure the exact correlation but maybe that is about 13-14 pull ups ? ( which I hate on account of my tendinitis )

When I could be fucked updating my workout journal on here I mentioned how good “functional” strength was and I’m a big fan of this.

Smashing out a decent number of muscle ups is next on the cards !

Challenge over, scan done, results in:

    Total weight loss = 5.6kg
    Body fat % down 5% to 13%
    Muscle mass did not change

    My abdomen measurement decreased 7.5cm

    Definitely stronger and Definitely fitter

In 45 days. Pretty stoked. Having a wine to celebrate

@mariner4life dude that is primo! especially cutting that much weight without losing any muscle mass. That is really, really impressive. Given the change in abdomen measurements + fat loss, was a lot of that visceral fat? I presume the dexa can map that?

Dude, no wonder your pull ups have improved out of sight. Nearly 6kg less to move!

@paekakboyz visceral fat dropped from a 7 to a 3 (anything under 10 is apparently good)

That's great, glad you're strong and fit and getting into this awesome exercise. Go for 12-15. You can do it, a lot of it's in the mind.

Lol. I've been doing 12-15 for years. I've had several injuries and started again on 4-5, had to recover again. Max has been 18 last year or 2?. Last weekend I did 3 sets, 12, 10, 10. but was feeling a bit sore already from another exercise....I now walk up the hills while doing shoulder stretches/pulls with my orange band.
I also use the orange band to do extra sets of pull ups when have time...
Was 95+kg, lost 14 kg, but now on about 83-84kg after eating too much.
Focusing on calf recovery after so many injuries late last year and an achilles strain in January-twice a week doing 7km/hr walks on treadmill for 30+ minutes with calf raises and stretches after....will post an update on my thread in a month or so once have more miles in my legs.

@mariner4life I need to see when I had my one done, must be close to 6 months, and I have dropped 5kg since then, so be good to see where the weight has gone from!

edit: just found it in my thread, was November, so will get it in May. My visceral fat was 8 or 9 I think?

I joined Virgin Active last week. Time to get a bit stronger.

They have one of those BodiScan machines, I can't imagine its as accurate as a full scan, but the umbers looked accurate enough for me.

My visceral fat was 10 (eek!), body fat 22.5%

Funny looking at the body picture too, my arms and legs are bright green pictures of health, then there is a massive tumour-esq red fucking blob where my abs are supposed to be 🤣

Muscle Ups are next. That’s a sure fire way to escape a zombie apocalypse while others get eaten.
