Hi team, I've got a bit of an issue with our Android 9 TV no longer updating the Disney+ or Netflix apps, and as it is Android, we can't easily use Miracast to stream to it.
Does anyone have a recommendation of a Miracast app for iPhone / iPad? There are plenty of options but so far I can't find anything that looks good, so, asking...

Bones

So looking at getting some Bluetooth trackers, but can't decide between Chipolo and Tile. Anyone used either?

@Bones we tried tiles a couple of years go as had seen really good reviews...but was ultimately disappointed...just didn't work that well (might be user error), had them in our bags for travelling....and they'd only "ping" when they were on the carousel almost infront of us

we moved to airtags and they work much better, you can see that your bags have made the plane etc much more reliably for some reason

Tile worked well for me but I seemed light on options, seeing as I'm on Android.

Tile certainly told me my suitcase was still in Abu Dhabi when I had arrived in Edinburgh. It also alerted me to the fact the suitcase had arrived in Edinburgh before the lost baggage claim people told me. But it is reliant on other Tile users being near a Tile, rather than any Android device or iPhone so you'll always get fewer pings.

@Kiwiwomble yeah I was of the understanding that they now use the find my device network that Google opened up this year? So possibly better than a couple of years ago.

@Bones good to know, might look in to that, the airtags are more expensive so would be good to have another option

Any recommendations on active speakers (amplifier in the speakers) for TV or a PC around US$200 to 300?

I want something for my TV for good stereo sound, with clear midrange for dialogue etc. For hifi I have to use headphones, least I piss off my neighbours too much.

Hi team, my parents are aging and have two remotes (sky, TV) and my mother cannot get her head around using it. That's not counting that they also have Netflix so I need a dongle for that.

My needs:

1 remote to turn on and off the TV, adjust the volume, and can watch TV, Sky including trackside, Netflix

Limits:

Needs to be cheap and used with older (non-smart) TVs.

Looking forward to hearing the wisdom of the fern.

Flatting at uni we had 4 remotes for the tv, sky, dvd player and a stereo - the solution was to tape them all to a single wooden plank that we named “the con”.

Worked a treat, impossible to lose, a single commander at all times
