Had a small order arrive from Emerson’s.
Included were some stouts.
Bluffie was, of course, an oyster stout. Emerson’s used to make a Clam Stout that was excellent and this bluff oyster version was just as good as Three Boys OS which is a bit of a benchmark.
The other was a hopped stout. A bit strong and much richer, almost thick and oily. This was like a heavy version of Yeastie Boys PKBBoth excellent brews.
Have a Chardonnay Barrel aged Saison to try too. But probably not on a weeknightBTW if you like Bookbinder as a session beer then ordering their riggers is a much cheaper way to buy. $11 for 1.25 litres (as opposed to the bottle price in most places of about $8 for 500ml.

Good George Apple Pie & Ice Cream Cider - nice drop, not as sweet as the Zeffer
Lenny & Carl Hazy Hop Buddies (Behemoth) - really liked this one
Tina Hazy IPA (Parrotdog) - good drop, was 7%, but not as smooth as the other Hazys I been enjoying.

Just tried both of the Garage Project special Whittaker’s Chocolate beers.
Really interesting. Far more than I expected. Not really beers with a chocolate flavour more slightly beery chocolate drinks.
The White Chocolate with golden raspberry and lemon was quite delicious and I don’t really like white chocolate.
The dark chocolate is for dark bitter choc. lovers only. Like liquified 80% cocoa choc with a hint of coffe mixed with a little stout.
Recommend them both for a taste. -

@MN5 my wife's going and doesn't have one
My other half has told me to stay at my house that night. Apparently I snore and fart lots after big beer sessions. I’m sure she’s imagining it.
Yeah fake news

Is Beervana worth it?
I haven't managed to find anybody else interested... boring fucks all now consider raising children to be more important than quaffing over-priced booze.
But... I'm more than willing to drink alone... just haven't seen much press around this thing, so wasn't sure if it's even worth that. -

Shockingly for a Wellingtonian who loves craft beer I’ve never actually been.

@nzzp I used to go years ago and even volunteered one year which was interesting.
I find for myself these days that I can only handle so much beer in public especially at craft strengths so I dint last long at these things. Those “tastes” soon add up.
Did one in hipster central brick lane in London and had to pull the plug early on and stumble home while I still could.
Saying that I agave ticjets to Beers at the Basin next week so I don’t really learn.
