Bad guys named. Luke Whitelock back. Should be a great matchup of the No. 8s.

Canterbury: Caleb Makene, Josh McKay, Tim Bateman, Inga Finau, Braydon Ennor, Richie Mo'unga, Ere Enari, Luke Whitelock (c), Billy Harmon, Tom Sanders, Dominic Bird, Hamish Dalzell, Oliver Jager, Nathan Vella, Chris Gawler.

Reserves: Ben Funnell, Alex Hodgman, Siate Tokolahi, Mitchell Dunshea, Reed Prinsep, Jack Stratton, Brett Cameron, Marshall Suckling.

Cantab's opening the door a little, with a team a fair way from full strength.

Do they serve full strength beer at Eden Park?..... maybe @dogmeat can ask one of his mates for me?

A bit disappointed we haven't gone full strength for this one. I've seen Makene play a few times and don't think he's anything special, Bridge has been one of our best this year.

A pretty weak tight five too. Gawler, Vella and Dalzell all a big step down from the men they are replacing.

Luke Whitelock back is good though, surely our defense wont leak 50+ again with him on the field, hope he hits Ioane hard a few times 🙂

Relax fellas - this Auckland team is garbage. Those forwards on the Canterbury bench look good for this level.

Not sure about the beer situation, but apparently the Chardonnay and Latte’s are superb....

If Canterbury can't win this by 50 they should walk home.

Usually Tui. It's full strenght, but not really beer.

Okara Park had steinlager in a can. Now that's customer service 🙂

Makene was quite solid for the Makos last year, but he's a bit little. Interesting they're playing him at fullback and McKay on the wing. I would have expected them to be switched.

@Kiwimurph - Yeah - looks like a good chunk of the starting pack on the bench. Should help avoid the sort of points scoring reversal that led to the Shield loss.

It turns out they do - just run at Jono Hickey - good plan that - dude is a turnstyle. Canterbury try.

Yep Auckland not much hope when Canterbury are getting the rub of the green.

I hope GPT is one of the ones off contract - he can fuck off.

If Enari had a chance to be selected for the Maori ABs, then he can forget about that now. Always awful seeing a player going off like that.

@kiwimurph Love how he isn't afraid to take the line on. Playing like a tough St Peter's boy.

We'll probably go on to lose but at least they're having a go unlike most of our performances this season.
