MotM vs Australia II
-
3 votes as usual
-
Beaudie, Bender, Reado
Next best Rettalick, Jordie.
Shout out to Ardie. His best performance imo.
-
Barrett, Squire and Retallick.
-
Barrett, A Smith and Retallick.
-
Barrett version 1st 5
BFA
And the computer had already automatically filled in Retallick. -
@billy-tell yup for me too
-
Will vote later. I can't decide on my number 3. B Barrett and Retallick are clear.
-
All the B's for me too BBBR, BB, and BFA.
Now I've seen the results, these are always so weird, to me those three were a head above every player on the field yet they're not getting a unanimous result. Hell, even some wrong headed posters out there haven't given BBBR a vote. What more does he have to do other than: clear rucks, win turnovers that lead to tries, put people in for tries, smash people in tackles, steal lineout ball? Seriously? Does he need to score 4 tries?
-
All the B's here too. Taylor unlucky.
-
Beaudie, Brodie and Ben From Accounts.
-
Yep, definitely Beauden, Brodie and Ben tonight. But what a great bench performance from Harris, Savea & Perenara
-
The B Team
B2
BFA
BBBR -
Interesting. I expected a pretty wide spread tonight considering pretty much the entire squad played well.
I went BBarrett for obvious reasons.
LSquire for his best ever test. When it was still an arm wrestle he was absolutely massive.
And A Smith because he was the driver behind everything constructive we did.BSmith, Retallic and Jordie were also unreal. A good night for a lot of guys.
-
I went for the three Bs too but Squire, JB and Taylor also deserve a mention. I like what I saw from TJP when he came in.
-
Taylor for me was best, workrate.
BB of course
Squire- outstanding
Then BFA.
Everyone else played ex as well -
@mariner4life BB, BFA, Squire, although in this company maybe it needs to be BLS?
BBBR close as always.
-
Tough to limit it to just three. I went for Beauden, Retallick and Taylor. Bender was also awesome, as per usual.

Me too. Taylor and BBBR were unlucky to not get a vote. And, after looking at how much of the space was created, A Smith too. The All Blacks presser was really interesting because Fozzie discussed how they are trying to use BB differently, basically just because of his speed. It certainly worked in this test, and in the last two tests he's looked even better once Dmac has come on - having two 10/15s in the last 20 really helps to create space for him as we go up the gears. I thought Jordie did well player first receiver a few times last night too, so that seems to be part of getting the best out of BB.
-
@gt12 I think with players like Dmac, BFA, BB, JB, Goodhue, ALB are all smart creative players with the ability to direct play and set others up, and with them all in the same backline it will inevitably create mis-matches for Dmac and BB to exploit with sheer gas...without even thinking about the laser guided passes of Smith, or what the likes of Read, BBBR & SW can do
-
Brodie... daylight... Beaudy, Read.
-
Yep, but what I think we are also seeing is not just tactics from players with those skills, but also a strategy to put BB in speed mis-matches by operating, for example, second man plays that open small gaps that most 10s couldn't take advantage of.

Mine as well. Read would have been my fourth choice - a huge defensive effort.
-
Barrett obviously, Read because I guess you forget how good he is and positive in all his play and Ben Smith for a lot a good stuff he did.

It's most noticeable when DMac subs onto the field and takes a lot of first receiver duties. Even BFA was doing it against the Wallabies last week.
-
I missed the game as my wife decided to go into labor - as a Wallabies supporter I guess from her perspective childbirth is less painful than watching them play the ABs so fair enough.
Have caught the highlights - geez we scored some great tries eh? Squire's was a thing of beauty, the angle he ran and the perfectly timed ball from BBBR. Orgasmic. Also loved how Moody lined up a couple of backs on their goalline and just smashed the fuck through them.
Great to see us put Beauden into some space as well, he's a very different player to Carter but fuck we can tear teams apart if we use him like we did last night.

having one kid is going to seem like fucking paradise compared to having two. good luck!
-
@mariner4life nah, our #2 was a breeze compared to that 1st spawn of satan (that actually arrived almost exactly 13 years ago...)
-
Not sure why @No-Quarter is getting all these Congrats posts. Like the rest of us dads he only had to contribute 5 mins of rooting to plant his seed while his mrs struggled for 9 months followed by something as comparitable as pushing a water melon through a garden hose

Our game plan has included our fullbacks going into 1st receiver, for some time now. Notice that Bender didn’t do it on the weekend but we saw Jordie in there a few times.
DMac late in the 2nd half.
Dagg was very good at it and could’ve been a revelation at 10, but Henry and Hansen obviously didn’t read my emails
