@Stargazer Zero points for Thread title!
This is BATTLE OF THE BAY!! For 'The Bay" naming rights!!
Not just a mere hawkes bay vs bay of plenty.......
-
JJ Taulagi, Jonah Lowe, Stacey Ili, Sasa Tofilau, Mason Emerson, Tiaan Falcon, Brad Weber, Gareth Evans, Josh Kaifa, Marino Mikaele-Tu’u, Michael Allardice, Tom Parsons, Ben May, Ben Power, Mark Braidwood
Reserves: Kianu Kereru-Symes, Joe Apikatoa, Pouri Rakete-Stones, Geoff Cridge, Will Tremain, Folau Fakatava, Pasqualle Dunn, Michael Buckley
-
@duluth Wow, another U19 making his debut! Kereru-Symes not off to Taupo (like Fakatava), but Flanders might be.
I prefer Dunn at 12 instead of Tofilau, who's a bit of a ball hogg.
-
Odd that Flanders is off to the 19s, he's looked good when he comes on - I guess Tremain covers the reserve loosie spot though and Flanders helps out chances at U19 level.
@Stargazer As Hooroo notes, you should rename this thread the Battle of the Bays.
-
@nepia I was just about to post that that's not the case. He's been given a rest or is injured. I'll post the U19 squad in the rep thread in a minute.

Ah right, I just assumed he was with the 19s as he's on that squad list in the 19s thread and Fakatava isn't.
-
@nepia And I am totally wrong. Damned dyslexia. He is in the U19s. I think Tremain is too old btw.
-
Shit, I hope HBT got it wrong where they're saying that Dixon has "a possibly season-ending knee injury"! He's been massive in the first few games.
This article gives a bit more info about young lad Kereru-Symes.

Sadly it's those miscreants up north, however, now that we have an actual coach I think we'll be regaining our title this year or next (we might be a little too inexperienced this year).
-
@hooroo The wrong Bay
-
Five nil surely to the good guys
-
Indeed it is as Higgins gives his flag a massive wave in support of the Magpies as Mr. Kelly takes an eternity to confirm what I knew the instant Johan Lowe got his mits onto the ball.
-
I wish the Magpies stopped kicking possession away.
-
Garland didn't do anything like that when playing for Magpies.
-
Geez, we'll now have to play with a 19-year-old debutant at hooker for 50 minutes of the game. Way too soon. Hope he goes well.
-
And to make it worse not finding touch from a penalty ends up costing three points as Mr. Kelly awards the visitors yet another penalty.
Hawkes Bay 05 - 06 Bay of Plenty after about thirty minutes. HB with a good breeze behind them -
If Ben Power's injury is serious and he can't play on Wednesday, I guess Jacob Devery will have to come back from the U19s.
-
It's a pity Hika Elliott has returned to France.
-
@stargazer that's a bit harsh

Power hasn't impressed me so far TBH, and I think he's only a year older than KKS, so prefer the homegrown Hawkes Bay boy get the gametime.
-
@stargazer Our prop Sakalia caught the disease. Not used to open paddock. Ha
-
@nepia Is Power that young? I think he offers a bit more .. eh, power ... in the scrum. He's a lot bigger than KKS.

A google search suggests he was playing NZ U20s last year. Unless I've got the wrong player.
-
Will Tremain. Any relation to Kel
-
-
So Tremain and Cridge are already on; Evans and Allardice off early. Geezus.
-
Maybe tactical, considering we're entering storm week.
-
All right, I'm out, have to catch the train out west to watch the Warriors - why oh why didn't I check the NPC draw before agreeing to go to the game.
Will watch the 2nd half after I watch the replay of the ABs v Arg when I get home.
Go Magpies!

Grandson.
Great impact already
-
Our scrum is strong this year
-
This is not good
-
Brad Weber and Jonah Lowe. Awesome!
-
Things are certainly looking a lot better since half time. I am just having a practice beer to make sure I can still do it in traditional style the way HB victories are always celebrated afterward. I'm pleased to say things are still in good working order!
Hawkes Bay 22 - 13 Bay of Plenty after about fifty five minutes
-
That was terrible from Ili.
-
How the hell did that last BoP try happen?
-
More importantly: can Falcon still walk?
-
These two BAYs don't make it easy for us supporters
