EPL 19/20

Massive week for Chelsea. Coach and best player, gone.
So what for the next season? I'm quite excited actually. We've got a few good younger players out on loan and we have the star Seppo to join us. I actually think t the transfer ban may do ok for us to give some younger players a chance. We've been after our next Lampard / Terry for an age now.
Manager ... Well, Lampard seems to be on everybodies lips, but I don't think it thats a good move. I don't think he could get us past mid table when top 4 is our aim. We should be looking for managers that have traditionally managed to get the best out of younger, future generation heavy squads - those in the Ferguson / Wenger zone. My preferred would be the Wolves manager, Nuno Espirito Santo. Solid, driven, dependable with just enough charisma to unite a top tier club.
I can't see Abramovich going for it tho - he's going to want trophies next year, which I personally think is massively optimistic. Maybe a carabao cup, but that's about it.

@MajorRage reports suggest Chelsea are ready to head down the same rabbit hole with Frank as yanited did with Ole
Yeah, he's the fave alright. My eternal optimism (whatever ...) is that he rules himself out.
He should. For his own sake. He isn't ready

the other name being bandied about is Rafa. Because that fans treated him so well last time he was there.

He's a very good manager who won stuff and got treated like shit in return. Mystifying

I love Rafa, and would hate to see him there. But it might be better than the uphill shitfight he deals with at Newcastle. At least the fans love him there.

yeah, how he has stayed this long is a bit of a miracle, especially for Newcastle.

I don't know why he isn't in greater demand. Surely he's still in the top dozen managers in Europe

maybe the way it went down at Real is counted as a black mark against him for a really big club?

He's not the first manager to flame out at RM

and he won't be the last. I, like you, can't understand why he isn't getting better offers. Maybe he is, and he actually likes what he's doing?

He brought them up and never left. Maybe he has security and at this stage it matters? The Geordies love him

Rafa leaving Newcastle after they couldn't reach a deal
I almost expert St James Park to be burnt down

Has anyone signed up with Spark Sports for the EPL? I'm trying to work out what to do. My TV is smart-ish? Has Netflix and other apps built in, but I reckon it's a reasonably early version. I assume I can have my TV go to the website or maybe download an app to watch? The tv doesn't have USB ports that I can see, so chromecast is out. Discuss please
-
-
So I bought a chromecast ultra unit, going to plug it into the TV tonight. Hopefully I can work it out, apparently it is easy enough. I've installed the Google home app onto my phone to drive the chromecast thingy. I will get a free 7 day trial of spark sport in time for the first round this weekend
-
I've read on another forum that Spark Sport has admitted to reducing their frame rate from 50/60 fps down to 25/30 fps and many aren't happy, because that has compromised the picture quality in fast-motion sport. Tell us what you think of the football pictures compared to Sky.
I only have the RWC package and have only checked it once after installing to ensure that everything worked.
-
I have never rated Luiz, but he seems to want out of Chelski. Arsenal need to improve the central defence and signing a player who wants to be an attacking midfielder isn't going to do that.
Getting £30 million for Iwobi from Everton would be good business to me, so I am surprised that deal didn't go through. We need to sell to buy.
-
@Hooroo That move for Tierney was flagged a couple of months ago so obviously with the deadline imminent, things have progressed.
FYI as I just discovered it the other day - the EPL transfer window closes this weekend and not at the end of August. The rest of Europe closes at the end of August.

I read today it closes at Midnight Thursday UK time for EPL teams?
