Harsh to judge a wingers form on that game, the passing along the backline at times was comical.

He was crucial in defence on several occasions, pretty much the much the only pleasing aspect of the game. That and Daltons superb work at the breakdown.

Was good to win while playing that badly. With the running the ball behind the goal line it looked like the team didnt think much of BOP.

We are missing Plummer’s calmness and game management hugely.

Big work-on for Rieko is to go looking for work. Don't know if his declining work rate is related to conditioning......

@Chester-Draws ..if your quite happy with a guy who looks out of form ,work rate and conditioning , then so be it..Both Bridge and Reece showed what the expectations are on the same ground 7 days ago .

Reiko would have looked a million dollars at the end of that forward effort as well. He showed today that his pace is still there, looked like he was jogging but ran in 50m with ease.

The Ioanes get so much undeserved shit here. It’s amusing at least.

    It's Rieko, not Reiko.

Ennor hardly shone last night either.

We just have to hope Rieko flicks the switch in Japan.

That's because Ennor hardly got the ball, not because of the way he played.

But having said that, they're really not going to drop Rieko. Maybe he'll end up on the bench though, with Bridge getting the start.

@Kirwan Yeah, I was hoping to get a good look at the BOP 14, but not much went his way.

@Kirwan didn’t realise they were protected species , there’s plenty of players not just the Ioane brothers that take a bit of stick on this forum...any sort of comments is even more exaggerated because both of these brothers are talented..but it’s obvious to anyone that work ethic lets them down..that’s constructive criticism..

He made early breaks. Only to squander them.

In any case, the same could be said for Ioane.

I'm not happy with him. I'm unconvinced Ennor has shown anything better recently.

And if we're looking at old form, then he's never going to beat Ioane.

A good example here. Both players top stats for attacking and defensive play and get tagged with work ethic slur.

Looks like any slim chance Harris had of making the RWC ended when he had to get driven off the field on the golf buggy ambulance. Leg injury of some sort.

Lol Rieko's going on the plane to Japan. I like how he's had a few average performances and all of a sudden he's rubbish and won't make the RWC squad yet Reece and Bridge have one good test against average opposition who gave up against us and all of a sudden they're all set to be our first choice wingers. I love how Auckland players on here get treated extremely harshly on here yet Canterbury players get treated like royalty most of the time when Rieko is clearly better that Bridge and Reece.

@Kirwan Yeah Plummer is a huge loss. Our attack is fairly average when he's not there. Hope to see him back soon.

Smith seemed to suggest not during the game.

@Kirwan If they weren't from Auckland they'd be treated like Gods just ignore them. The Auckland hatred is still going strong as usual.

Unusually bad attacking game from us. We're usually well drilled on attack and efficient with the ball we have, but we were all over the place in this game.

Poor games from our main ball handlers(9, 10 and 15), which contributed greatly to the mess we saw out there. I think the coaches value Ruru's defense too much - his passing and super slow service really affected our attack and exits.

Rayasi got found out a bit at fullback. He was mostly good for the first two games, but he was playing like a typical winger who gets pushed to fullback. I'm not a big fan of a 3 power winger back 3, but we don't really have any other option at the moment.

Papali'i was on another level to everyone else. Was it 6 turnovers he had before he went off? That's insane. Hopefully his ankle injury isn't too bad.

One big positive was our defense, which was led by Whetton and Faiane. They were putting in big tackles all game. Both Whetton and Faiane are in the Top 5 for tackles in the comp at the moment, which is usually dominated by backrowers. Hopefully the Blues see what's in front of them and sign Whetton.

Whetton was beast out there, love how he moves bodies at the ruck and smashes people. Blues would be mad not to sign him.

Yep, Dalton had six turnovers and two of them saved likely trys. Match winning performance, played the Akira role for us with try line turnovers.

We’d look much better with Trainor at 15, need that extra kicking option with Plummer out. Any news on when he’s back?
