The three retiring RNZAF C-130H Hercules have just flown overhead on their way from Ohakea to Whenuapai. Only at 700 ft according to flight radar. Very cool to see at that altitude.

That'll be AMSL, so probably lower. My grandad was in the assessment team that went to the USA when the RNZAF was purchasing them

I'm not sure the AGL, hard to tell, but there is a vid here. I've been a cockpit passenger low level at night in one of these things, scary as fuck! I think they use 200' MSD

@Machpants It was low enough that the planes weren't visible on the horizon behind what would be a 2-story level building next to my house.
