@Virgil interesting listening to an 'ad' on the radio from Newshub with headlines, rather than saying the brother died form CV, they said he was killed by CV...
I guess it is still correct, but just didnt sound right.
Gutting for the whanau!
@JC given what Hanks has already been through no way was it gonna be a flu-like Virus to kill him off!

@taniwharugby Is Chairman Dan consulting to Aunty Jacinda?
-
No new cases in NZ (border or community) for first time in a month
-
2 new cases today, both at the border, 5 days since the last community case.
Surely there is no reason NZ cant move back to L1 from Monday, or will Auckland have a L1.5 or something?
67 active cases currently in NZ.
-
@taniwharugby Stuff reporting one community, one border?
-
4 new cases, 2 in isolation and 2 new community transmissions from recent arrival who had finished isolation.
Start of a new cluster, better not affect dropping levels tomorrow -

Start of a new cluster, better not affect dropping levels tomorrowBit of a concern that someone made it through isolation without being picked by testing, but agree that if it's just a few cases, no need to hold back the level changes tomorrow.

so with this new case, who had previously tested negative twice, what sort of % of people can be negative for over 2 weeks and then show as positive?
Makes it pretty hard to eliminate it, again without a complete border shutdown.
Highlights the need for a better plan about how we manage this virus in our communities!

Or, we could keep going for elimination and just extend quarantine on arrival out to 4 weeks...

@taniwharugby I saw the AirNZ head saying he'd be shocked if there was a bubble before March, so with effectively no compassionate grounds for early release anymore, circumstances could easily mean it could actually be years before I come back to NZ now.

seems this journo just making shit up, you cant tell me a move back up the levels is even remotely possible, if anything, I think this recent case just highlights the pointlessness of lockdowns to try and control it while we have the border open (and we know they cant close it)
Move back to alert level 3 or 4
As much as Kiwis want to move down alert levels, it is not out of the question that there could be a move up.
If Auckland – or New Zealand as a whole – moved back to level 3 or 4, restrictions would heavily increase and some shops would have to close again.
People would be asked to work from home and travel would be further restricted.
