@Bovidae wife went to the 'local' Countdown this morning, was very busy, much busier than the much larger and better Pak'n'Save which is only about 4km further, where she does her usual big shop.
She said people are adhering to the rules, but then someone they know drives past, they go over, lean into the window to chat....goes in, buys them something, hands it to them through the window.
Its the little things like that, getting your bins in as well, wash hands immediately as the rubbish guys are touching bins from hundreds of households...
I just leave the recycling crates out for at least a day, no problems then

@Machpants Many councils around the country have suspended the collection of recycling.
Yeah. I checked whether ours would be collected the other day and it the Auckland council website said that their recycling is fully automated so they were still doing it. No one touches the bins normally.
-
I didnt watch our collection this morning, but all recycling went out as well as refuse,I know they have the ability to do it without touching the refuse bins, but often dont, they always wear gloves as well.
I took out some dettol wet wipes with me before bringing the bins in today.

The water is so crystal and flat, and warm, so much diving possibilities wasted! #firstworldcoastalproblems

Cindy is calling out 20-29 year olds. If they won't do it for themselves or everyone else, do it for them. 4 weeks detention in a government facility

The message needs to be that they could be responsible for killing their grandparents, or parents.
Or mates, much less chance but young people, with no underlying issues, are dying. Kids, teens, twenties.

What concerns me is that there are less than 250 ICU beds throughout NZ and while that particular age group is currently presumed to be less susceptible to fatalityat would suggest that they will be the ones taking up the limited beds. As such that means that those ICU beds may have to be triaged - and all those who require ICU beds for non-covid related issues could be on the receiving end,
-
yeah some of the clips they showed on the news, when they were interveiwing someone on the beach you can see plenty people in the background.
Cops needs to start getting harder on these people, unfortunately the message about going out for exercise has been taken too far by lots of people, and I expect peoples view on 'local' will differ massively too, so relying on different people to self manage based on thier own ideas...

Everyone who needs hospital care, covid or otherwise will and is suffering. All those people due joint replacement operations are probably all on hold right now
