7.5km this morning. Went a bit later than normal, and the sun cooked me. And the new loop added another 10m of elevation, which doesn't seem like much, but the last 3 km home just fucking sucked.

Also 7 5kms for me today. Flatter than yesterday so quickish. Getting really bored of running, thinking about taking some bolt cutters to one of the bikes I've seen chained up in town for the last 5 weeks.
turning to petty crime. Driven there by the actions of Government...
I'll probably go for a ride this arvo. I really need to get my road bike down. Shamefully, it still has Ironman stickers on it from last year...

Never remove those, that's a badge of pride right there!
I took my roadie to Bali in Dec, put about 20kms total on it before we bailed. It's still there collecting dust.

Finally got back in the rower today after a frustrating day at work. Felt good, a lazy 10km. Then a short walk up the maunga with the family, the light was amazing as the sun set, and one of those beautiful Autumn days with no wind.
Glorious.
Now into some beer, Curry and naan. Fit fat and happy baby

Been doing running and HIIT. Following the beginners half marathon training program from the book Unbreakable runner. misses wants to run another one at some stage once this is all over. Consists mainly of high intensity 2/3/4/800m repeats twice a week or a time trial or paced mid distance run on the weekend. First weekend was a 5km time trial next weekend a 6.5k at 80% of your 10k predicted pace then this weekend was 6.5k time trial.
I am pretty active but probably haven't run outside of playing basketball for 3 years. I usually play 2-3 times a week but that's gone out the window. Also previously been doing powerlifting for 18 months then just switched towards aiming to do a Bodybuilding comp a week before we planned to get married in sept(likely be off now).
Cardio in powerlifting was any reps more than 7 haha.
Have kept below 5min/ks for both the time trials so far which at 110kg I am happy with. Started the year at 117kg and was slowly dropping for BB'ing comp but now fuck it time to drop some weight and make running easier. Would love to get sub 100kg and try run a 1 hour 30 min half marathon previous pb was 1.37. Think I will need to finish the 12 weeks beginners to drop some kegs and also get the lungs/legs use to this 400/800m runs then start the next 12 weeks of the intermediate.
Been doing HIIT stuff ourself 3x a week. Overdid it on Friday and still sore today....if anyone wants a no equipment you can try this.
Pyramid working from 1 rep to 10 reps back down to 1 of:
High step up or Box jump
Squat jump - Squat into a max height jump and landing back into the bottom of the squat
Tricep push up full rangeAt the end of every set do 20 mountain climbers.

Fuck man, a 1:30 half is running at 4:17 /km pace. That's fucking quick, and ludicrous for a bloke weighing c. 100kgs!
What sort of weird-ass physique do you possess???

Massive slong is where the majority of the weight is.... that can also cause chafing issues.
No when I mean under 100kg im thinking like 95kg. I was on track a few years back for 1.30 (training wise) then sprained my ankle badly had 6 weeks no training then only got 3 weeks training before the actual event. A lot of stars would have to align for me to get 1 30.
@JK yup that's exactly how.

last night did some sprint/walks with TR Jnr...showed him he needs to up his game, still cant beat his old man!
~100m sprint, walk back, 100m sprint etc...10 sprints in total (must have been a touch more than 100m as it was 2.21km all up)
Is bloody hard work TBH, not often you get out there and put the effort in for 100m (read 75/80) certainly notice it.
PLaying touch last summer, got into top gear a few times, but only for 10-20m, this is a step up again.
