NZ Tab
1.64 Brumbies
2.17 RedsBrumbies correctly favourites but Reds have a good shot. The Brumbies haven't played for two weeks and they lost that match to the Reds (7-26)
-
I haven't seen anything of Super Rugby Oz. But I hope the Reds win this match simply because Brad Thorn is their coach. Humble bloke, great All Black.
-
First front rower to pop up under pressure in the scrum is Tongan Thor, but Angus Gardner awards the Reds the penalty because he's such a good ref.
-
Brumbies score a stunning length of the field try - every player must have touched the ball.
Just kidding - maul from 5m out.
-
Something I'd like to see brought in:
If the reserves from the try scoring team run on the field, try remains unconverted and play begins at halfway with a penalty to the non scoring side.
-
Tongan Thor being really average. Hits ball up midfield from lineout, knocks on in the tackle. Subsequently misses tackle. Brumbies march down the field and score another try.
-
Reds have been playing like nervous Nellies, hopefully that try will settle them down.
-
Petaia is such a gun.

That pass though...why!
He pulled something in his leg.

He might not have if he passed it properly 😁

Start him on the wing for the Wallabies? Move him to 13 in a couple of years
-
-
WTF is Gardner looking at? Can't he see Thor stands up and pops first every time?
-
Good play by the young ten
-
Super Rugby AU obviously isn't as concerned about cleaning out from the side.
-
Gee this is a frustrating watch from the reds, so many errors leaving tries gone begging. Chill Winston.
-
That sniping run from McDermott was impressive
-
And then they score a try from an error. What do I know.
-
@Bones They looked from the start like a young team with little experience playing in a final. Forced substitutions hasn't helped.
-
@antipodean yep, kickoffs have been an absolute shitshow too.
-
Classic Kuridrani.
-
Imagine how much more effective Tupou would be if he wasn't so lazy. Footwork, try and get a weak shoulder...or just run straight into a defender.
-
That Brumbies scrum got munted...no penalty.
Congrats Brumbies.

Yeah Reds created some great opportunities in that second half but lacked the finishing polish.
JOC has shown a good steady hand during this comp. will be interesting to see if Rennie goes with him or Toomua.

Reds scrum very good. Lineout rubbish.

My Aussie friend is convinced that SRAU is more physical than SRA and the defences are better. I haven't watched a lot of SRAU so I can't comment. Any truth to this?
-
I've enjoyed watching SR AU
More physical? No
Defences better? Not quite.. I think defence was easier in SR AU because the offside line was not enforced well

Aussies playing to their traditional strengths?
