Tasman v Waikato

No ABs have been released so far.
Based on previous weeks, Waikato won't name their team until tomorrow afternoon.
The options at 12 are that (if fit) Bailyn Sullivan plays at centre and Tupaea moves into 2nd 5, otherwise Louis Rogers will come into 2nd 5.
For fullback, Rivez Reihana might start at fullback as he did last season, Matty Lansdown comes into the team at fullback, or perhaps Liam Coombes-Fabling moves back to fullback with Valynce Te Whare on the wing.I'm hoping Roe is fit too.
-
@Bovidae pretty keen to see more of Te Whare, looks to have some gas.
-

Pretty different Tasman pack from last season - only Makalio and Sione Havili were regulars last year.
Backline looks decent, but the most vulnerable Tasman team in several years.
-
@Bovidae Hugo Nankivell on the bench. Where's M Jacobson?
-
Are Waikato's Hugo Nankivell and Tasman's Alex Nankivell related?
-
@Yeetyaah Injured from last week.
@Stargazer They are brothers. Hugo is older and a loose forward.
-
@Stargazer yeah brothers. They look quite similar.
-
Hugo made his debut for Waikato last year. Here is an article from when he was in Chch.
-
Can't believe Mitch Jacobson rested for a big game like this. He is going so well. Also wish Te Whare was starting.
Shame that injuries have impacted so much for this team. Really need Johnstone back.

I don't think Mitch has been rested as he went off injured last week (shoulder?).
Johnstone would certainly strengthen the scrum.

WE’RE GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOUR LOT!!!
It’s mid afternoon and I’ve been drinking at the air port. I hope they let me board....

-
@Bovidae I took it from the team announcement injury update that he was ok. Maybe a precaution?

The injury list might not be up to date but I wouldn't be taking the risk if not 100%. Southland away next week will be a physical game too.
-
TJ and Hames on commentary 🤦
-
Great kick from Smith
-
Shieeet. Good intercept from Havili. Sullivan nearly had him.

Havili didn’t look quick. Time to move to 12
-
Great tackle from Coombes-Fabling.
-
Silly from Jacobson
-
Great little run from Coombes-Fabling. Thomson making more mistakes than someone with his experience should.
-
How is that not a deliberate knock down from Havili? No chance to catch it and stuck his hand out?

Cos it went backwards, you're allowed to bat it back.
Obviously very wet in Nelson at the moment, slippery ball
-
@Machpants so any player can disrupt the ball in a pass as long as it's flicked back?
-
Christ the Waikato handling is dogshit
-
Nice try
-
Great try from Tupaea. Finally Waikato getting some phases together.
-
Jesus Christ. Surely you can't just bowl someone over like that?
-
Knock on from Havili? Ref missing some shite.
-
Dogshit maul from Waikato. Looked like a forward pass into the maul though.
-
Throw was as straight as Freddy Mercury
-
Fuck up Hames.
-
Regardless of the other team not contesting at lineout time, a crooked throw in , is a crooked throw in ..it’s like in correct feed to the scrum..
-
@Yeetyaah Do you have the sound off? The ref clearly said that it went backward. So no knock-on.
-
@Stargazer which one?
-
Was the offside on the goal line?
-
What are these knock ons from Waikato? It's not like it's fucking wet.
-
Great kick from Havili.
