Chris Ashton v Aussie and Jonny May skinning Conrad Smith. Also Ben Cohen v Ireland in 2003 ( I think).

Bit before my time. I started watching in 1982.

But 2 length of the field team tries in 1980, both finished by Hika Reid. At a time when test rugby was still tight and dour they were extraordinary.

Graham Mourie in the same test v Wales

@Rapido Speaking of the bloody French

last time we lost at EP, Nightmare on Jonah's debut. Amazing team try and one of those events that adds to their aura

Sorry to nitpick ... But 2nd test. Debut was the week prior in Chch.

Many who were around at this time will have suppressed the memory of these, so drag them up from the depths at your peril. But, they'll be burned in there somewhere.... ๐Ÿ™‚

Gerrie Germishuys - too fast for Bee Gee and Kit Fawcett losing the pass over his shoulder.

Just before my time. Thankfully. I have memories of watching the series (i.e., I remember I watched it). But nothing firm in my mind.

    Unlike the next year:
Batty intercept and Super Sid in first test.
Lawrie Knight! To win the series in the 4th

Clever Snake had the last laugh as he usually did. The ABs won the test.

    This try too.

BBBR put the ball down one handed! Showboating fluffybunny! Shouldnโ€™t be allowed back.

Nah he doesnโ€™t play video games...

    It was two handed.

Richard Tsimba, Zimbabwe v Romania, 1987 RWC

Did his shoulder in the dive from memory

Was at that match. Good try but he looked like a fool having to go off injured after showboating.

To be fair the amount of showboating that goes on here....

    @booboo Batty! Intercept!

His little legs were pumping, but Andy Irvine was mowing him down....luckily the line came when it did! ๐Ÿ™‚

Considering i had no skin in this game, I'll always remember the first 3 tries in this test, all fucking crackers

O'Driscoll's is a scorcher. 2 mauls to get the Wallabies on their heels, then that break and just doing the usually reliable Matt Burke.

Jason Robinson skinning Latham (?) with 5m of space is fucking good too.

The crowd reaction after the try is awesome too.

@mariner4life I watched that first test at an Irish pub in Richmond, packed with Lions and non-Wallaby supporters and it was electric.

That was an awesome series - quality rugby, massive crowd support and many mates who were diehard AFL supporters started to take an interest in rugby as a result.
