It doesn't matter now, but why didn't they go for the DG when on attack? Instead it was just another ordinary kick on the last tackle.

Stupid right? Plenty to improve on and hopefully the coach will point that out in the sheds. Just nice to see the effort in the tackles and hit ups.

Good to see RTS get a lot more ball out wide. He looked more threatening more often. Ran for a massive 265m.

I reckon with Harris playing on the edge gave us a bit more space out wide for RTS to exploit.

And not taking the droppie was dumb. Fancy a NZ team hot on attack not taking a droppie so close....

@act-crusader yip. Harris is threatening down the middle with 2 forwards all over him. Out wider he is a bloody problem. That kid Curran was great. More please.

@bayimports now Harris off with a HIA. He’s been very good playing on the edge as opposed to in the middle.

A bit more effective on our last options. Not perfect, but better than the last few weeks.

RTS having a whale of a game.

the dropping of Katoa also good, basically put others on notice, but it allowed someone who can hold a defensive line in Curran to start.

    Curran has been good.

He ran some sweet lines and was big on defense(50 tackles).

Pompey looked very good too. Will be a big loss if he misses time.

Wouldn't it have been 39/40 if the TMO had ruled a correct knock on from the referral? Which TBF would still be as hard to process.

They did complete 39/40 which is amazing anyway. The halves still look way off the mark, they engaged the line and actually executed the block play on the last a few times to allow RTS more room to attack on the fifth which was a nice change, but still there basic kicking was ordinary and the lack of a drop goal attempt at the end was worrying. We got good roll forward through the forwards which helped having two props back and for the record, Tohu played lock for most of the game, that is why he popped up on both sides of the field occassionally. He went to the edge when Jazz came on, and when BMM came on moved back to the middle. Curran dominated on his edge doesnt look to necessarily be a ball player but ran good lines and he had 30 of those 50 tackles by half time, seriously only hookers who play in the middle normally hit those numbers. It did seem to inspire those around him too with some good scramble at times.
Pompey continues to play with more confidence and was making more tackle busts as a result and Montoya having some good moments too. Dont want to lose either of them and hope Pompey can walk off his injury, Hiku will be out for a while and Aitken supposedly back from week 9. Happy to see Katoa and Fus sit out again if this is what achieved a better balance. Curran has to strat again surely.

Other news Bunty apparently to sign extended contract this week.

The storm this week for the ANZAC clash, we used to be competitive in this but have taken a few beatings lately, I dont expect us to win it for sure, but would be great to put in a similar effort as they did against the dragons, who knows maybe with high completion rate, might be able to stay in the game long enough for an upset.

@bayimports Melbourne are starting to look ominous. Grant is scary good. The one-two punch with Smith is really good. Munster is like a new Wally Lewis. The Pap at the back is in the conversation for the best FB in the game right now. And as usual the pack is doing all the right things.

@mariner4life Papy is on an insanely good run right now (unlike Teddy whose major provider Keary is season ending), the obvious problem is by focusing on him, you take your eye of Munster and Hughes. On top of that Grant is now available who controls the game exceptionally and of course the other kiwis all grow an extra leg and Nelson, Bromwich X2 and the Cheese when playing the warriors. So yes even not playing us Melbourne look good, but playing us, we will be doing well to stay close.

How poor were the titans. Just no attacking threat.

    Ash Taylor needs to go

Kevo Walters should be happy with the Broncos performance to push Penrith for most the game.

They look much better with Oats and without Milford.

Canterbury prop Jack Hetherington was sent off in the clash with North Queensland for a high tackle on Cowboys fullback Valentine Holmes and faces a six-week suspension.

    Unsurprising....

All the makings of a massive ANZAC upset or hiding!
