Just started watching. The score is a surprise.. the Force playing well or Reds shit?
-
Well done Paisami. Picked out the prop and halfback in the defensive line
Reds in front again 19-16

Bit of both
-
Fuck Murphy is an awful ref. Reds walked that around.
-
The Reds scrum has had a fair bit of trouble tonight.
-
Force had a shot in that one but still remain short of 'strength in depth' compared to a side like the Reds. Have a few players, particularly off the bench, that aren't at super level in terms of skills. Qld keep getting the job done, so it could be their year.
-
Enjoyed that game. I get the feeling that the Wobs could form a very formidable team from this comp. Certain individuals stand out amongst the crowd. That Reds 13 shows incredible promise.

Would suggest they could pick Reds 12 & 13 in combination
-
@nta Paisami was a bit of a mixed bag tonight I thought. Did some good things as well as some silly things but the potential is certainly there. Vunivalu also looked a handful out there. Petaia showed his class as usual.
The Force showed their grit and fought hard like they do, but are a bit limited on attack. They're a good sie to have in the comp tbh with all their international experience out there. Better that then having a side full of Kiwi Mitre 10 Cup players.
-
@african-monkey I thought Paisami was the best on field.
I think you only take one of Petaia or Paisami in the Wallaby backline. Toomua is a genuine world class 12.

Lot of decent talent at Reds and Brumbies to fit into that backline. Couple of Rebels as well.
No Tahs at this point.
-
@nta They'll keep Harrison in the squad. Someone has to develop him. He had more promise than Lolesio IMO.
-
@derpus an uninjured Gordon might be third behind Tate and White, but TBH Prior might be just as good a choice

Tizzano must be knocking on the door.

Potentially, but I was talking backs 😉
McReight probably looks best for the 7 Jersey in combination with the Reds 8 Harry Wilson.
-
@nta woops sorry!
-
@kiwimurph np. The hard bit will be picking a forward pack out of the Brumbies and Reds. There are a couple of Force and Rebels guys I'd have just because they're showing the right amount of grunt.
I don't envy Rennie his job, but I reckon if he sticks with combinations, and avoids penalty magnets like LSL (Reds) and Neville (Ponies), we'll do alright.
Maybe Hooper can stay offshore, and we'll use the money for something else, eh?
-
@nta McReight looks good but he isn't as good as Hooper yet.
The form flanker for me at the moment is Valetini.

Not enough work off the ball. There for the big plays, but walks a lot when the ball isn't near him. Can't have that at test level.
-
@nta I think it was a fair criticism of his last year but he seems to be putting in more of a shift this year. My main concern picking him for the Wallabies is a lack of lineout presence.
