I'd like to see Jordan get a shot at fullback. I think Mo'unga plays better at 10 when BB is not at fullback, but Dmac and Jordie haven't been convincing. Of the fullbacks in the squad, Jordan is the only one who hasn't worn the ABs 15 jersey yet. Let's play him there and see how he goes.

    11 rioane
    12 havili
    13 ALB
    14 Reece
    15 Jordan

@chris-b he will most likely shift Savea to 6, Havili to 15, Jordie to 12 and Reiko to 13.

Seriously, who knows who’s going to be starting in that first game. I doubt Foster even has a clue.

    Scary shit.

He hasn't played Jordie on the wing this year. That's progress.

The worst thing is Foster has nearly 3 weeks to overthink and fuck up selections.
Far to long for him to come up with the right combo.

A loooot of coaches stumble in to selections

Remember Moody at the RWC as a very recent example?

My problem is I don't trust these idiots to learn the right lesson. All coaches have blind spots, some have more than others

@chris just to mix things up he might put the backs in the forwards and the forwards in the backs.

    I wouldn’t mind Rettalick getting a run at 10 for a laugh.

Enjoyed Havili tonight tonight, got through a mountain of work and was a great bail-out option when needed.

Never would have thought I'd watch Fiji and say their forwards were great and their backs let them down...

I've been a D-Mac bagger here, but I thought Nisbo's comment "you can't teach pace" was the worst take of the night. That was an awesome defensive play from McKenzie, and the appropriate comment would have been "you can't teach heart". Love him or hate him, he gives absolutely everything.

    Outstanding trend setting,game changing.

Ahhh Foster doesn’t relate to any of those ideas, we maybe ok.

Yep it’s scary as what he will come up with.
Hoping he saw what we all saw tonight.

@chris atleast by the end of the year we will have a fairly good picture of the potential of this side going forward under Foster.

@bones not sure how Ardie was rusty? Esp looking at the voting

Really? How many errors? Busy but not hugely effective a lot of the time. I'm comparing him to Ardie... don't get defensive...

    …I think they’d be pretty similar…ardie v ardie

Not if you watched him today Vs him in the RC last year...

It looked to me that largely it was DH that performed the second playmaker role tonight rather than McKenzie who was used out wide a bit more. I wonder if that had something to do with the change in personel at 13 and 11?

@frank lol I’ve had that pic for years.

Savea is perfectly fine as a 7 at international level. The problem at the World Cup is he had next to no time in that position leading into the Semi Final and was surrounded by an aging Read who you could argue shouldn’t have been there anyway.

Bullshit that he’s not upto it against the bigger teams. Are you blind, he’s been dominant tonight and I wouldn’t say Fiji are small.

With Cane out all year it’s going to be hard bringing him back if Savea and Papali’i dominate.

I hate to break this to you - because it turned out I was wrong...but, I distinctly heard Foster say midweek that Ardie is an 8 for us, but he can also play 7.

He can, but not as well as Jacobson and Sotutu, so he should shelve that idea.

Yeah agree Ardie looks good at 7 and Jacobsen has a massive work rate at 8 he has impressed.

Jacobsen has always been a star. Hard nosed toiler with a great work rate and good rugby brain.
He is some way better than Sotutu at test level.

Yep agree he’s grabbed the 8 jersey I reckon.
