TSF NPC Tipping 2022
-
With the assistance of @Duluth I have kicked off NPC Tipping for the coming season, the first game is Friday night. To enter just tip Week 1, select a team and I will sort out who goes where. Let's get enough for 8 teams as usual - that's 40-50 people.
The tipping form and tips spreadsheet can be found linked on this page
The leaderboard you can see was the final rankings for NPC 2021 in which Higgins and Plastered Peni finished joint first with Victor in 3rd. Check the leaderboard to see the team you were in last season.
It isn't shown but the teams comp was won by Counties-Waikato beating Hawke's Bay in the final.
-
...i'll give it another go....is there a tipping comp on how long i'll last before forgetting?
-
@Kiwiwomble Set yourself a weekly reminder? Sign up for the Superbru comp and they email you reminders.

Use to do superbru…still forgot…even with the reminders
-
@Kiwiwomble Consult your physician then.
-
Come on you Northlanders, you should start trying to cement a full squad of six that will tip each and every week sooner rather than later from the likes of @taniwharugby @kev @j77 @FarNthHayden @Gunner @Chiefy07 and you too @Steven-Harris ! There might even be one or two others out there that I have forgotten about that could also come in to ensure you have a full squad this season. Get working to get your team together again guys.
-
Is there an Auckland, Harbour, or Blues team?
-
@Higgins back off pal, my tips/guesses were in yesterday (or earlier) 😅😅
-
@Tim It has been a combined Harbour/Auckland team lately but if you want to have one specifically representing your own area then get onto those Ferners (past present and future) that support that area and encourage them the sign up an that can be relied on to tip each and every week!
-
@taniwharugby Oh, I see that now. That means you will have more energy to coerce your fellow Northlanders into sharpening their pencils and fronting up again this season! I am about to start rounding up the usual suspects from the Bush team who are mostly mates of my son and another hanger on, both played NPC for the Bush about ten years back. Hopefully other Bushers like @MN5 and @Machpants might finally do the right thing and front up to bolster what appears to be a Bush team on a slightly waning trajectory. Well they did not win it last season anyway!
-
I've put some tips in, as an "Individual"....
- I'm sure I'll be thrown in with some poor team lacking in numbers after Round 1.
I'm guessing the current range of teams has been arrived at over years of experience of typical attendance patterns... and is probably a shitload easier than....
I was wondering if it would be extra work to instead - pre-R1 - the question be "NPC team supported"... and then somebody given the thankless task of arranging teams from the attendees for that season. Although I'm sure that it would nearly always force such a person into forming the "Central Vikings" - and handbags ensue. -

I have done a bit of groundwork this time and note that you have yet to sign up for the TSF Superbru contest. Didn't you win (or almost win) it one season?
-
@Higgins oh yeah I saw that email in my inbox....

im sorry to say i am

If you can remember back to the inaugural NPC Tipping in 2006, the first winners were Thames Valley who I think never competed again. @Brakdov was the first champion.
And no Auckland/Harbour based team has ever made the final.

ahh those were also the days... complaining about Foster and his selections and underachieving results...hmm not much has changed
I was competitive though, alas not so these days.. margins tend to kill me
-
@Kiwiwomble well maybe we can help your memory.
-
@Tim cheers, I gave up on tipping years ago. Just go to the games now
-
As captain of that mighty Valley team, I am making a comeback and am available for selection... tips are in...
-
@BartMan Welcome back, as Captain of the only team that has never finished lower than first then you have a lot of pressure on you. All the best of luck Champ.

I’m certainly a big fan of Bush

@MN5 I love going to Memorial Park and standing on the terraces on the far side of the field no more than ten metres from the sideline, close enough to "feel" the hits going on out there. Even better is you are in the company of rural folk who still have the feel for the game that rural folk have always had and will always have for the game and where having a beer whilst supporting your team with your mates whilst wearing your gumboots or work boots is still part of the game day experience.
Then there is the legendary Gravel Pit of the Wai-Bush Supporters Club under the stands where good old fashioned aftermatch activities are still important.
Importantly will you be donning the green and red for the Bush Tipping Team so I can let captain Waynes World know?

Born and bred in woodville, I am available for selection if required. Played my first rep rugby at age 12 in the green and red!

@bayimports Any genuine Busher is expected to do their duty for the Bush no matter where the are now so @BartMan is quite within his rights to tip for his State of Origin team and even demand inclusion in it as his birthright entitles him to!

-
@Chris-B you not a southerner?
-
@broughie He is from Tasman. Speaking of which it makes it a bit surprising that they have not managed to cobble together a team of mercenary imports to front up for them!
-
Defending champions Counties/Waikato are really cocking a snook at everyone if they are so confident they think they can front with a team of currently three in total to defend their title. Come on you guys @OomPB and @hooroo surely you can't have retired just when you have hit the top? Surprisingly fellow titleholder @antipodean has flown the coup and has declared for Harbour/Auckland, do I detect dissention within their ranks?
-
@Higgins Tasman grows their own. Imports. Hmmff
