It’s confirmed.
Why are you excited?
Nothing will change. It’s a shithole cesspit.
This will be very interesting, it’s 100% been used to push the extremes of a specific ideology. At the very least that will have criticism allowed.
Agree it’s a cesspit. So is most of social media. Except the Fern

Blue check verifieds for authentic public figures, and no blue checks for anonymous-users, I’d be fine with. But anonymity has to stay. I’d like to believe the authentication is there to ferret out the bot farms, but will wait and see.

@Kid-Chocolate isn't that what is is currently? i thought thats literally what the blue tick was

@Tim yeah that's weird. I hope he's just talking about all the people that want blue checks but don't get them because their politics are wrong. Getting rid of anonymity would be a huge mistake.

I think anonymity is still allowed.
He is saying non-famous people who want a blue check can have one.
He also proposed earlier that anyone wanting the blue check verification pay 3 dollars per month membership fee and removing advertising revenue. -

He wants to get rid of bots, no problem with that. And anybody that wants to be verified should be able to, at the moment it's pretty difficult. That will cut down on harassment and impersonation.
He's not said anything about anonymity as far as I've seen.

We’ll doubtless learn at some point about how far back Musk was eyeballing the takeover, but it really does seem Twitter’s suspension of The Babylon Bee was the straw that broke the camels back.
