Manawatu halfback Kayne Hammington has been called into the squad and onto the bench for a potential Super Rugby debut. The Chiefs had had Samoan international Pele Cowley training with them but he has since got injured.

He would be no.5 in the pecking order.

Hammington has (for the last couple of off seasons) been driving up the Hamilton to take part in Chiefs trainings off his own back. Good on him for trying to force his way in. He got a few minutes last year as well.

TKB is injured...jeez, when is the Chiefs bye?

Was listening to Rennie on the radio today, he reckons Pulu is probably one of the quickest in NZ rugby right now.

Force, Brumbies, Blues and then the bye. After that it's only three games to the next bye and only two games to the June test break.

Gutted TKB and ALB are out but at least both replacements are quality. Hopefully TKB comes back real soon though, as I think the TKB and Weber combo is pretty fantastic. They compliment each other really well, whichever one starts, the other changes things up once they come on and can catch defences unaware.

And, of course, stoked to see Donald on the bench.

The Chiefs bench does not exactly fill any opposition with any trepidation. The injury toll has certainly cut really deep into their playing stocks.

Here's an article about Hammington. In this instance he cut short a holiday in Melbourne - respect. I didn't realise he is a similar size to Weber.

Awesome try but I thought there was a law about diving on a ball around a ruck being illegal? (Cane).

Chiefs doing well to try to control territory. Two good kicks by Ngatai.

Lowe had a bad one that put them under pressure, but they seem happy to kick for territory.

Both teams are laughably offside around the ruck. Literally, right in fucking front of the ref?
