How about Axl?
Review from a mate who saw them here: "GNFR !!! Great gig in spite of the 60 year old asmatic woman that played Axel for the gig (and the November Rain)."

Slash us going off. Axl pipes are as good as ever
-
Banger after banger

Funny, bunch of mates went in Welly and wide range of reaction. One left halfway through, not angry just thought it was a bit shit. One in the corporate box had the best time...
Agreement that Slash is a legend and Axl sounds shabby though.

Finishing with paradise city. Place is rocking

I went to Wellington.
It was as shit as I expected it to be.
Axel not able to string more than 10 or 15 minutes together - so a gig heavy on Slash smashing out extended guitar solos. And I get that some people might enjoy that, but... not my thing.
But - everybody knew (or should have known) that was going to happen.
The one thing that took me by surprise... they were so... small. A stadium gig, but they just seemed to not fill the stadium, in any sense. I don't know if it was that the ground of the stadium was only half-full, and/or the volume was relatively low, and/or their stage-show just being a montage of bogan cliches... but... they were small.
If that makes sense.
But oh wow - there was a CGI neon shark. And some CGI hands coming out of the ground and ants crawling all over them. And a metric SHIT-ton of CGI skulls in various forms. -
@Kruse yeah guy that left early said you couldn't hear it well and couldn't even make out the words to the songs where he was sitting.

Welcome to the mumble!
Sun is shining on a beautiful day, I understand one of your posts!

Sorry I must be slipping!

I went five years ago.
Axel struggled then, I’m fairly sure he hasn’t improved in the years since so I saved my money and didn’t bother this time.
-
I saw Slash with Myles Kennedy on vocals a few years ago. A much better use of my money.
-
We bought tickets to the Sydney concert when they came on sale a few years back
When the concert finally came around recently, we realised none of us actually wanted to go, so sold the tickets
Sounds like a sensible decision

I saw them in 2017, and it was an epic evening, and a great show, but not exactly a gig. So I guess I'm with Kruse on this one.
Axl was pretty average back then and the latest videos of him don't suggest any improvement. Looks like the band is still awesome though.
I was going to buy some for BST Hyde Park next year and it's an amazing iconic venue and GnR are very fitting. But the prices started at 112 + booking fee so around 120. Sorry guys, it's a no from me.

Didn't go but interestingly on Friday our company (nothing to do with Eden Park) were given 20 free tickets. So I'm guessing they couldn't sell out the venue...

@MajorRage get an amex if you haven't already. Priority booking plus cheaper food and drink... and you can get your face painted purty.
