Think that helps spell typical blues - West puts in a fantastic bomb, 4 blues chasers able to get to where the ball is landing, all of them stop to watch the argie catch it.

Jags player at that ruck was never on his feet and slowed it down.

I'll take the win. Any win for us these days is a good win especially with the side we've got. Still, the way people carry on about us you'd think we're 0-5.

Akira loves the niggle but never goes too far with it - just winds others up - fitzy would approve.

Blues defence a lot better tonight and Rangers ability at the breakdown is a real plus.

But they still have big problems in attack. Look directionless out there. Ranger looked exceptionally pedestrian and quite gunshy, which is why he got sat on his backside a fair bit tonight.

Thought some of the Blues forwards played okay.

I hope Francis and Mayhew are ok - they went well. Blues 2 wins a draw and 2 losses - might have not been vintage from the Blues but a huge step up than against the Reds.

Funny sort of game. Early on it looked like the argies would win by plenty, aided by the ref giving them to rub of the green.
Don't like to whinge too much about refs but seems pretty much every game now, win or lose, there is something to whinge about.
Thought the mall penalty against pat t to take argies from 6 to 9 was bullshit. He was in the centre of the mall from the start. Then a few players splintered off he changes his grip while still well and truely part of the mall and gets pinged for side entry. Refs are way too harsh on defending teams for the "entry" when players are already part of the maul.

Anyway, good win for the Blues even if it was scrappy. Could easily have dropped their bundle and lost.

Blues organisation on any phase ball attack was some of the worst I've seen since hurricanes under Hammett. Basically non existent.

Agree with whoever was questioning the actions of the argie players in the Moala non try. The first guy who tackled Visinia near the line made a play for the ball when it was debatable whether he was on his feet or not. He also knocked the ball on.

Then the guy who tackled Moala was stripping the ball out while off his feet. So at least a scrum to Blues for the first knock on if not a penalty for playing it off your feet/not allowing the tackled player to play the ball.

Not a great game, but I'm taking any win after the last couple of years.

It was a much improved scrum last night. Even Mr. Origami(Prattley) managed to not look like a disaster in the scrum.

Luatua, Tuipulotu and Akira all looked good with ball in hand. Surely Akira starts next week?

Parsons had a very good game. He was very busy before he went off.

Gibson was big on defense for us and topped the tackle count once again. He also probably hit twice as many rucks as any other player.

Ranger had a solid game. I actually thought he'd be gun-shy to go for turnovers after his neck surgery.
