    @Steven-Harris

    Tuipulotu still injured?

They seem reluctant to play AB XV players this week (Lio-Willie on the bench for Otago) so that might explain Ioane

Kalin Falise? Are there other lock injuries?

@Duluth its an interesting one , the only player i knew that was definetly injured was Tanielu Tele’a
Also Felise was’nt in the orginal squad , but was selected as loose forward in the Dev squad , so hes surpassed Sione Tuipulotu ,Fano Funaki ,Cowley Tuioti and Boston Schuster who are the Dev Locks

Can only think that Patty T and Akira have not been released to play by the ABs and Annadale must be injured as well
Odd that they see Corey Evans as their starting fullback after one game ..do they not trust RTS ..?

Just saw that RTS walking around the SCG celebrating 10 years since the Roosters won the premiership in 2013 so would that have something to do with his non selection?

According to this site, Kalin Falise played in the Harbour competition for Marist (they run that club with Massey University Albany rugby), and for NZ Universities.

He made last year's Auckland contenders squad while playing for University.

Vikena is a bit of a worry - plenty of talent but yet to kick on. Benched for Apisai. Yikes.

@Steven-Harris Patty said he's aiming for round2, and Akira had been with all blacks in camp

It’s a big year for him he really needs to make some progress

It’s surprising how little he has played.. 3 (interrupted) seasons only 8 starts. He started just over half the games last year but the two seasons before that were destroyed by covid.

@Steven-Harris RTS given leave to attend Roosters 2013 premiership winning team 10 year anniversary this weekend.
Akira, Patty, AJ still 'on ice' as per higher ups orders. Plummer pretty much demanded to play 12 for Auckland as that's where he wants to hang his hat for SR. So Zarn has insisted on playing 10 as that's where HE wants to play SR.
So question has to be asked are the inmates running the asylum? Personally I don't mind seeing the shuffling around. Esp RTS at fullback.

@Nogusta Glad the coaches have said yes to it if that's the case. Definitely benefits the Blues going forward.

PT mustn't quite be at full fitness, surely? He's not played a competitive game since the SRA regular season so he hardly needs time off, unlike the ABs XV boys.

The BOP side in a more readable format:

    1 Aidan Ross
    2 Kurt Eklund
    3 John Afoa
    4 Manaaki Selby-Rickit
    5 Justin Sangster
    6 Naitoa Ah Kuoi
    7 Veveni Lasaqa
    8 Nikora Broughton
    9 Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi
    10 Lucas Cashmore
    11 Ngarohi McGarvey-Black
    12 Lalomilo Lalomilo
    13 Melani Nanai
    14 Leroy Carter
    15 Cole Forbes

    Reserves:
    16 Nathan Vella
    17 Benet Kumeroa
    18 Alex Johnston
    19 Etonia Waqa
    20 Semisi Paea
    21 Richard Judd
    22 Wharenui Hawera
    23 Seamus Bardoul

Interested to see how Nanai goes at centre. I thought he was a decent chance of playing their this year.

A handful of guys playing against their old province: Eklund, Afoa, Nanai, Vella
