With the NPC not that far away. Is there any player movements, apart from those we've read. From a HBay point of view, nothing to report.

    A couple commonly known ones.

Sean Withy leaving Otago to join Southland. Sevu Reece leaving Ta$man to join Southland(not that he’s expected to play many, if any games).

Liam Coltman is back in NZ and signed for Otago.

@Landers92 Sevu Reece to Southland?. Be great if he gets a game or two for them. But I doubt it.

Otago's 25ish contracted players can be found here https://www.orfu.co.nz/HIGH-PERFORMANCE/NPC/2024-player-profiles . Which probably leaves about six spots and some decelopment deals. Do any Ta$man fans know what has happened to Luca Inch? He pulled out of the Highlanders at the start of the season this year, due to personal reasons. Can't see any trace of him in club footy. Hope he is all good.

Couple of others. Lookkng to get some footy in Southland are Byron Smith, former Brumby Lachlan Albert and rumours of Mitch Dunshea. Thomas Umaga-Jensen is also unsigned for the provincial season.

@Nepia Actually, I've heard the opposite.

We won the NPC (twice) on a shoe-string, but since then we've attracted more cash and are now a bit more comfortably off.

Can't testify that second part is a fact, but it's what I've heard. The first part is readily verifiable in those old State of the Union reports.

Ta$man is announcing a squad player each week day for the few weeks until the whole squad is named. A nice idea.

So far - Quinten Strange, Jack Gray, Kyran Taumoefolau, Sam Moli

plus Maloni Kunawave and Eli Odenryn in our development squad.

@Chris-B Eli Oudenryn, no relation to former Wahs speedster Lee Oudenryn by any chance?

    @African-Monkey No idea, sorry.

He's a hooker, though - so he probably hasn't inherited all those fast twitch fibres!

Decent young hooker was in the Crusaders u/20 squad this year.

Kunaware was at Rotorua BHS and Odenryn at Palmerston North BHS. Manawatū seems to be a factory for hookers.

Tevita Latu, has made the move North from Southland to Northland.

Dale McLeod a big factor in the move.

Got to see him play yesterday, looks a good player with good game sense.

I wonder if Southland might look to the uncontracted Umaga-Jensen to replace Latu.

There might be some clues in the Auckland contenders squad. Sanirevi and Faletagoa'i from Taranaki, Harford and Luke Donaldson from Canterbury, Koroi from Otago, and Visinia from HB. Of course there is also Segner from Ta$man.
