    @ACT-Crusader said in Final - Crusaders v Chiefs:

    @Snowy love it bro.

    Newell’s play along side Bell and Bower was pretty important at the end and it showed with the scrum dominance. The drop off beyond our 3 ABs is still a little more than you’d want in such a big game.

    I wonder what they will do about Finlay Brewis next year?

    If he were fit, maybe you'd deploy 1. Williams. 3. Newell. 17. Brewis. 18. Bower - dunno how George goes at tighthead these days, but I've not been impressed with either KSM or Calder there, to date.

    If they cut him, we need to recruit a better second tighthead.

    yeah um they must value him greatly given the foodbill riskfactor.
    I didn't quite see the appeal on Saturday.

    He played his best rugby ever on his return, definite upgrade on anyone else they had. Can't see why that wouldn't be valued.

    Wouldn't have wanted any other centre than Ennor the way that Final played out

    Crusaders have a very settled team for next year. A few injury guys to come back, wonder if there are any new signings.

    Is Penney returning as coach? Saw an interview on YT post-final and he was very non-committal about next year.

    @hikastags his answers suggested to me he is still in negotiations with the Crusaders and/or someone else.

    His stocks have never been higher. After leaving Munster early and being sacked by the Tahs, winning Super Rugby with the Crusaders looks pretty attractive on his LinkedIn.

    If he was smart he'd cash in overseas as opposed to going again with the Crusaders and potentially taking the shine off his 2025 win.

    NZ free medical care compares well to overseas?!

    The Crusaders haven’t yet made it formal, but it’s understood Rob Penney isn’t going anywhere and has already started preparing for the 2026 season.

    It says in a Stuff article today that Moananu is leaving. MP would be a better option so he starts every week.

    He'd start every week at the Blues too?

    Maybe, but Cotter might favour the experience of Eklund.
