@mariner4life Ha! Almost is pretty much the word that sums up my career to date.

I was hoping Minto would weigh in on the Turei thing. Et voila...
Funnily, he hasn't included John Campbell on his list of rich white male broadcasters whose fault it is that Turei is gone.

But I imagined you as wearing furs and smoking long cigarettes while lying back and dictating your latest romp to a man friday.

His opponent's teeth would be better equipped for that task. Could farking crack a turtle shell with those.

If Metiria manages to get the Greens below 5%, that would be well worth the nomination...
Totally agree, expunging the greens from parliament, making labour a credible party again and removing any doubt that they have no real interest in the environment are all laudable achievements. And in such a short space of time too.
I'll vote for the guy who gifted Wellington a children's hospital though.

@jegga can't really fault the idea. One of the parts I like about that story is investing half of that money in community groups to support programmes to reduce offending. You often see stories of people working directly with these kids, at the grass roots level I guess, and getting real results by instilling a bit of self belief and responsibility into them. Those are the types of people we should be investing in.

Any thought on the proposed anti feral laws?
Corrective training didn't work before, and there is already a voluntary scheme which doesn't work that well now with people who are actively volunteering for it. Throwing them into
finishing schoolprison is unlikely to lead to better outcomes either, any more than it ever has.Still, it plays well with the base, and that's all that really matters.

@Godder have to deal with the limited service volunteers was one of the reasons my step brother left the army after 20 or so years of being in there. He didn't sign up to deal with unmotivated ferals and a lot of the other guys felt the same way.
