@nepia you're struggling with this spoiler thing aren't you
WTF - if I go and edit that my text is all there!

As a family drama? Or as agents in the FSB after the fall of the Soviet Union. Hmmm, I guess they could have Philip and Elizabeth going back to the states in the early 90s trying to re-recruit Paige while trying to bond with Henry.
TBH, I like how it finished, I would find it weird watching a non-80s set The Americans!
I think I would prefer a Stan centred spinoff, or a Henry's hockey career spin off.

But I like your thinking,

Maybe Stan recruits Henry to be a double agent in Russia!

:::Hahaha, that could be a show. Now, you've got weird shit going on with spoilering.

@taniwharugby @MiketheSnow I think one of my posts were missed with the fucking spoiler thing taking the piss with my posts! This is the actual spoilered bit from the post you both liked.

I think that the moment Paige got off the train she had made a decision that she was done with that life and was happy to live the rest of her days as an American.
I think it was a pretty good ending. The show was never typical, so not having a big final shootout fits for me.
I really wanted Elizabeth to go down, she's like a female version of the Breaking Bad guy whose name I can't remember, she's actually a really bad apple and I didn't want her to make it out.
For Phillip I think that at least in a few years time, with the ending of the Soviet Union, he'll be able to try and re-establish his connection with Henry.
Oh, I think we definitely know that Stan's missus is an agent from that final shot of her looking at the Jennings house. Actually a Stan Beamish show could be a spin off, him and his mate investigating a case(s) over 10 episodes.

Technical Mods: Any idea why spoilers only work occasionally for me?

Taboo. Seen 3 episodes. Tom Hardy is farking brilliant. The show itself is intriguing but a bit of a struggle sometimes. Will stick with it.

Yeah - stick with it, all the spiritual/hallucination shit tapers off, from what I recall. And with that stripped away, it's good shit.

watched S1 of Goliath.
Really enjoyed it, although I did struggle with how it all ended, nothing seemed to fall in place for them yet it still came off? I mean given what we know as the viewer, thats how it should have gone, but nothing else seemed to point that way.
Had a look at KIlling Eve, ep 1 was good enough for me to watch more.
-
@taniwharugby totally agree - it was like a deus ex machina except we didn't even get a god on a fiery chariot
Still enjoyed it. Currently half way through s2 which looks like its trending towards a similar contrived design

Sharp Objects - Ep 1. This is the new psychological thriller series featuring Amy Adams and based on the first novel by Gillian Flynn (of Gone Girl fame) about a reporter who returns to her old rural Midwest town to cover the murders of two young girls. Adams' character has demons of her own including a dysfunctional family, a fondness of vodka and self-harm.
All the reviews said it was a slow burner but with a good cast this has promise.

I've heard this is a good un so pretty keen to give it a hoon.
Mrs got me watching Cloak and Dagger which looks pretty shit so far but then again I strongly dislike any Super Heroes who aren't Batman or Iron Man.

Succession
Up to Episode 6
Great writing, great acting
The fan is starting to get covered. -
About 6 eps into Killing Eve...really enjoying it! Darkly amusing, both main female characters (Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer) are very good.
-
finished S1 of KIlling Eve, really enjoyed it.
Love Villanelle/Ocksanna's character!

I've got one problem with it... watching Succession, and Billions, in parallel currently - and really starting to feel my lifestyle is not up to scratch.
(within a 2 hour period, I watched 2 scenes involving chomping down on an ortolan, yet I've never tried one. Hating being poor.) -
Unforgotten on ITV. Third series starting tonight. First two were very good with a nice change to the police procedural format and good writing/characters.
Worth watching and a well written female lead makes it a show the other half will enjoy so you can fill the shared watching quota without suffering. -
Took me right back to Middletown Mall circa 1989 and day's off from Summer Camp 👌
