@jegga Trotter is someone who I'll always take the time to read, even though I often disagree with him.
Brian Easton is another one like that , even if you do disagree with them you have an understanding of where they are coming from . This is a complete contrast to the more vocal left wing commentators who simply declare any one they disagree with a Nazi , fascist , racist or worse . Usually they don’t provide any evidence to back up these outrageous slurs or if they have those links in blue in their smug rants that are completely out of context .

A fair bit of rewriting of history here and it goes downhill from there into Comical Ali territory.

I'm a Labour voter but that sucks. I don't like this David Clark. I have had to use Mental health services and we need more funding not less.
Well if he keeps this up I'll expect a change in vote next time then....
-
Fucking idiots. In this day and age, they should be increasing funding for mental health services, not bloody cutting it. The public awareness of depression etc is greater than it's ever been thanks to the work of SJK et al, our country's suicide rate is shamefully high, but yeah, cutting services makes total fucking sense.
These people have shit for brains.

@nzzp sweet, next time I'm down at, where ever our planes are, I'll ask for a free ride and lesson on how to fly it, 2 birds and all!
You don't need a lesson coz I keep getting told that they fly themselves these days, so just go and take one.

But we've got nice planes ordered now, and fee free first year study
Don’t forget the new embassy in Sweden or the grants to the pacific islands .
Mental health services don’t seem to be a priority for any party but the scheme they axed looked like a good idea imho .

Can’t help but notice the two biggest blogs from the left who when National were in charge within hours of any issue had an immediate understanding of the minutiae of any issue and why it was in fact John Keys fault haven’t touched the cochlear implants or mental health services funding cut.
Funny that.

It was part of a 17 point $100 million mental health plan announced by national according to the article

Funny how there’s $35m to pay for recovering 29 dead bodies from Pike River but not enough to look after some actual live people who may die without the help. Maybe a sense of priorities.
It’s all good there’s an inquiry into it.

I sense a new oppressor group on the horizon..... straight cis white sane alive male....
So @JC you need to check your 'aliveness' and your toxic sanity.

@jegga Oh fucking joy. A mental health inquiry to set up a mental health commission. Aka we will spend a fuckton of money on overpriced consultants to come to conclusions we already know, followed by more money on bureaucracy rather than pouring it into the the service that doctors and nurses and social workers and police and specialists are crying out for.
-
@taniwharugby The budget was 6 million. Which they will of course blow out in the quest to have more consultants.
-
Clark originally wanted to scrap all of Nationals extra $100 mill of funding according to this .
