@baron-silas-greenback You do seem to want to persist with this notion that I am anti-National. I did ask you why you think that but you didn't respond.
I find it quite bizarre as the one time (many cycles ago0 I did mention my political views in any detail - you said (non-ironically) that you'd vote for me.
DM/BSG dream ticket?
I didn't respond as it would have gone down the path of a discussion about a poster.
I am not persisting about it at all. I made one comment about your clear National animus, and then dropped it.
Happy to give my reasons. -
@baron-silas-greenback I have no National animus. Having met both Bridges and Bennett I have grave concerns about their ability to lead National to victory. Bridges is Winnie lite and Bennett is simply Light. I did think the photo showed them in a particularly unflattering way.
I have said many times I was underwhelmed by the last National government. That's not animus - its a rational argument that they missed an opportunity for real change.
Labour seem to have continued on in many ways in a similar vein - some of their stuff is fucking loopey but probably National would have developed its own barminess if forced into collaboration with NZF. Much of what Labour has done is meh. In a couple of areas I think they are an improvement.
NZ's main political parties are very centrist - it shouldn't be a surprise that some policies have cross party appeal.
I think Cindy is a total muppet and has taken the personality politics embraced by Key to a whole new level.
If that makes me a National hater ....

You very rarely delve into policy unless it was to slam the last govt or praise the current one. I cannot remember one nice thing you said policy wise about National... ever.
But the current govt.... you are a veritable knight in shining armour whenever they are criticised, wether about SH2 shamozzles or Business confidence levels.
Nothing wrong with any of that, that is just supporting party policies, but lets not pretend you are not supportiv of Labour and anti National.

In 10 months they achieved amazing things, made business confidence plummet to levels last seen during GFC for example

@canefan ha on Breakfast this morning they were asking whether it was fair to 'attack' St. Cindy so soon after returning to work.
When she is in Parliament and answering questions as PM, all the baby shit is irrelevant, however most of our fawning media dont see it quite like that, we have to take it easy on her, I suspect the baby is one thing, but because she is a 'nice' female PM not a 'hard' one like Shipley or Clark.

@rembrandt fucken sad day.
Contrast all the video footage of these 2 talking in any video and then contrast the coverage from media and you are a fucken dullard to swallow the edited and scandalous messages coming from mainstream media.
Contrast the coverage of irrational infantile behaviour of her detractors with how these 2 behave. Screaming insults, shouting down viewpoints, assaulting people, blocking roads and damaging property.
All the wasted energy and resources to stop a Q&A with an audience of 300 (smaller than a decent wedding) because these 2 will harm the fabric of NZ society. Can't even confirm the content of the speeches but willing to judge on...on...on what exactly? (Oh yeah, media portrayals in a 30 second puff piece on the news or a panel of scripted opinions.
And people swallow this shit - she's a troll. She makes people be violent. She should be arrested for walking down a street with a camera. Her venue owners must pay 67k to the police because protestors attacked patrons wanting to hear a point of view.
It's fucking nonsense and needs to be called out.

Shouting at them gets more traction than a good debate!
And in other News, Simon Bridges continues to suck at being leader of the largest opposition party.
Again, TV1 news asked if they would still 'attack' St C in parliament given she has just come back from maternity leave...

Nationals polling has held firm despite losing their three top guys and being in opposition though.

That's what Labour thought about David Shearer at the same stage of the electoral cycle, till they found two who were much worse... the risks of the leadership game!

@donsteppa although Labour were still struggling in the polls.

They were around 35% when Shearer bought the snapper to parliament, that the Greens and Winston would have been enough to win . Silent T managed to undo all of that pretty quickly.
