@Stargazer I don't see the point either in having Holland and Spencer on the books. Get rid of Holland and while they are at it they need to release Cron and Watt aswell - we need a fresh perspective in the forwards.
Going back to Holland, all the Canes seem to have in their arsenal is kicking the ball back to the opposition. In 2015/16 when they were playing vintage rugby the Canes almost ran the ball from anywhere. Now all they do is kick the bloody pill away at almost every opportunity - it just seems like they are trying to be too safe - unfortunately playing it safe isn't in the Canes DNA.
I feel for JB, he is young and probably just wants to nail down one position, however these twits are hellbent on ruining any confidence the young fella has by chopping and changing him every week.
Tana has passed on his idiotic selection tendencies from the Blues.

I'm so over Plumtree and his pathetic selections - we should be doing better but this idiot keeps picking the same players and expects different results.
- Blackwell tries hard but is too small for a lock - how many games will it take to sink into Plumtree's noggin?
- Prinsep really is ineffective at this level - they must have something against Ben Nicholas, surely he is a better no8 than Prinsep.
- Lam is horrible on defence and only looks good going forward - the Crusaders showed once again that Lam is useless when it comes to the crunch, average under the high ball and clueless when he is on the back foot.
Was really surprised the Canes signed Prinsep, one of those players who probably puts up awesome numbers in the gym but lacks a bit of hardness. Watching him at club level you always noticed him (but not for his playing ability).
I would have expected Bedwell-Curtis to get more starts this year? I was a bit disappointed that the Crusaders let him go and then signed Tom Sanders.
Agree about Lam, He let in 2 tries on the weekend with his terrible defense.

@SammyC Tom Sanders was already signed, last year. He's just injured all the time.
Yeah I know that, I worded my post wrong. The timing is irrelevant to me though ....I thought it was a shit decision to sign him and then have to release bedwell-Curtis

These coaches are completely hopeless. Agree on all these points. But after the disaster last week Plumtree still felt the team was on the right track.
Its a shame really. Canes won the competition and instead of building on this they have thrown it out the window with poor conditioning of players (= injuries), poor recruitment, a poor attack coach etc. Last week it was like a well coached side against a side who had just been thrown together and weren't really interested in playing. It was a terrible performance. Re Jordie. He's not a wing. He wants to play 2nd of FB. Anyway life is what it is. Expecting wellington or the Canes to be consistently a top team is it seems not going to happen

No matter who we bring in as lock cover, Plumtree will still pick midget as lock.
-
Canes locks are to Plumbtree what Solomona Kata is Kearney.
-
If only we kept NAS. He looks like a massive unit for the Storm this year. Would have been perfect in the Canes and ironically played in the same 1st 15 as midget.

It's gotta be embarrassing when there's quite a few props out there who are taller than you.
