So how about this for how insanely popular GOT is.
Telstra Australia are hosting events to watch the premiere of the new season in their internal Theatre rooms. Staff just need to get permission from their manager and can then wander off for 90 minutes during the work day to watch the premiere live and get back to work complete with an 'Iron Throne' replica to take a photo on.
You'd be pretty pissed if you were too busy to attend but then had colleagues come back discussing everything that has happened.
Maybe they're anticipating folking calling in sick for the next few Mondays, just incredible that this is for a TV series especially a fantasy series..feels like only yesterday that 'cool' people were mocking me for being into Warhammer and LOTR books.
We still mock you..
Most people only watch GoT for the tits and gore..the rest is ponytail filler -
finished Afterlife...agree with comments above, very good series.
Finally finished S2 of The Punisher...meh...Castle plus the 2 baddies were all but indestructible...I mean one baddie, after being beaten, shot, beaten, shot, then has a further 3 bullets put in his torso and yet still manages to walk away...usually I am ok with this genre (Banshee, S1 The Punisher) but they took this to a whole new level of BSness and was just tiresome.

The Umbrella Academy
I thought this was cool. Like Heroes but with no edges sanded off, and far more sophisticated in its thinking. No surprise it is based on a Dark Horse comic.
Gotta say they built into some of the characters really well - particularly those who have powers you think are pretty fucking useless. Well casted, some killer tracks, and the right amount of special effects.
Second Series should be rad.

@Kirwan Apparently not:
Fuck. Similar situation in Oz
I took an alternate option. Great series.

@taniwharugby I’m back on season 3.
-
@taniwharugby Amazon bought the rights after SyFy cancelled the series, so the gap between seasons may be longer than usual.

ok maybe I need to give expanse another shot.
Takes a while to get going, it’s definitely one to binge watch, another one with a lot of characters.

@Kirwan I watched up until the chick in the shower. The Mrs out for work tonight so I guess that's me.
Perfect, all go from there

Hood would just laugh at those pussy injuries.

Black Summer
Have started this on Netflix and up to Ep 3.
Zombie apocalypse with a minimalist approach to storytelling - basically chops up each episode into vignettes about a particular person, item, or theme. You see other storylines intersecting up close or from a distance, which makes it good to watch.
I like the focus on individuals and small groups. It lives in the moment, and I haven't got a sense of an overarching storyline yet.

@NTA think I am upto ep 4 maybe?
As with most of this genre, it relies on stupid people.
Case in point, think ep 4

Natch. It's a zombie flick, and they're Americans
