Tories gotta be asking themselves if the stain of Theresa May is going to destroy their party for a generation. It’s comical.

Looks like a hilarious ukip press conference, just waiting on the full video to be uploaded. Sargon apparently went in all guns blazing at the media. They might be a generation too soon for widespread public appeal but for those in on the joke its terrific entertainment.

This could easily go in 3 of our British politics threads. The Brexit party has launched and is already according to polling the most favoured (27%) for the euro elections.
I gotta say Farage is on to a very good thing here. The press are so tied up calling ukip the nazis that his new party is in the clear of the usual smear campaignsas he now appears as a moderate. Makes me wonder if this was planned well in advance with what seemed to be a sudden change of tune from him.
Nigel's a terrific speaker and a lot better at the art of politics than Batten who I think might be too honest to succeed in the short term.
Jacob Rees-Mogg's sister looks like she could have a real future.

Poll surge for Brexit party sparks panic among Tories and Labour
Support for the Conservatives at the European elections slumps to 11%, less than a third of what the Farage’s party is polling
Toby Helm and Michael Savage
Sun 12 May 2019 09.54Senior Tory and Labour politicians have issued frantic calls to their voters to back them in next week’s European elections after a new poll showed support for Nigel Farage’s Brexit party had soared to a level higher than for the two main parties put together.
The Opinium survey for the Observer places the Brexit party on 34%, when people were asked how they intended to vote on 23 May, with Labour slipping to 21% and the Conservatives collapsing to just 11%. Ominously for Theresa May, support for the Tories at the European elections is now less than a third of that for Farage’s party, and below that for the Liberal Democrats, who are on 12%.
The poll suggests the Brexit party, launched only last month, is now on course for a thumping victory that Farage will, MPs fear, use to back his argument that the UK must leave the EU immediately without a deal.

Maybe a bit before his time but he's doing well taking the time to debate his opposition (well the ones that don't come swinging).
Youtube has naturally just demonetised his entire channel. The last thing we need is for big tech to encourage polite discourse between people with opposing views on the internet!

@Salacious-Crumb That's pretty incredible really. Farage has played this beautifully. A single issue party without a manifesto. Will be very interesting to see if it becomes a real party or is it just going to be the Farage show.

Do you need to ask?

Single issue parties are exactly what people turn to when the established are shit. We had it with Bob Jones.
Farage is being a complete twat though. Goes on his second interview in a week on the Beeb and bitches about how the beeb don't give him coverage. The man is learning directly from the orange president.

You would think he might welcome the opportunity to explain/show just how those comments were taken out of context (if they were) and clear them out of the way so people don't keep throwing them back at him.
Just saying 'ignore those, they are old' doesn't cut it with me. He's a politician the same as them all and will say what he thinks people want to hear.
I think it is totally fair and expected of someone in his position to clearly explain how/why he has changed a point of view otherwise it will always linger. -

Ha! Clearly you haven't been paying attention! Those not of the establishment don't simply get to have statements cleared out of the way. They get brought up again and again and again, each interview follows the same script all a lot of attempted 'gotcha's' to try and paint them if possible as something resembling pedophile-Hitler and ensuring they don't get the opportunity to actually talk about issues. Look at almost every single Gerard Batten interview, they are basically carbon copies. The sheer beauty of the orange prophet was that he showed the way how to beat them at their own game. Talk over them and never apologise.
