Liberal Democrat leader Jo Swinson looks set to lose her seat, according to the exit poll, as her party faces a dismal showing in the general election.
I'll let the dust settle and ask my mate Dom Addington what his thoughts are on their future.

Potentially a hilarious result where the Tories get a majority but Boris loses his seat.
His comfortable electorate majority is looking very shaky with exits polls sitting in the margin of error.Exit polls haven't been released yet......
Started coming out at 10am our time.
Could be that what I saw was misleading but that was still the assessment.
Doesn’t matter much anyway, just thought it would be funnyMeanwhile at least it looks like people haven’t been stupid enough to put Corbyn in control

Great result. Hopefully this means Labour cleans house and distances themselves from the far left loonies that have been running riot for some time now. They need to be pushed right the fuck back to the fringe where they belong, not within the major centre-left party.
-
Anybody blaming the Rooskies yet?

If that poll comes true.... Soooooo many battles to come
Boris vs Europe
Boris vs SNP
Left labor vs Far left labour
Lib dem vs Lib demCorbyn and McDonnell will be gone by Xmas.
You think? I reckon they are in complete denial about the popularity of their policies. They think theirs is a righteous cause and any failure to get people to vote for it is due to the right-biased news media. And you can bet they've got a plan to fix that...

I agree with this , they despise Blair but he’s the only labour pm in the past 45 years. He had to shift the party a decent way to get there too .

Popcorn time.
Having fun sipping a bottle of Pinot and watching the London-based rich Labour supremo and traditional Labour senior MP's ripping each other to shreds.
Could be a good result for UK plc. Get some certainty on Brexit amd move on and a good BoJo majority will allow him to see off the ERG nutters while hopefully labour can get rid of the loons and move to a bit more sensible centre ground.

It is illegal to release them before polls close, and they didnt close till 11am. So someone was bukllshitting you.

@Crucial said in British Politics:
I'd say that the only reason Labour even got the votes they did is because of the first past the post system. It encourages some people to vote based on tradition rather than the here and now.
That’s an interesting point , there’s a core of people who are culturally labour or national or republican and Democrat and swallow a few dead rats and vote the way they always have because they can’t even think of voting any other way
-
Very good day today so far
Had a Labour rep being interviewed on BBC just before, he'd just lost his seat to the Conservatives, didn't mince words in regards to the idiocy of Labour trying to fight against democracy in regards to Brexit. Puts the loss firmly down to that.
Great to see Brexit party kneecapping Northern previously Labour constituencies
