I just want a refund from Sky. Fuck knows what they are going to fill all those sports channels with now.
Continuous replays of the Mitre10 Cup final.
I'm willing to pay more!
Hey, if they can't play the NPC this year we'll be champions for two years - couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of blokes!

The last 10 years of Ranfurly Shield games would be a winner.

@Bovidae cool, thanks. What's the underlying strategy? To stop it coming in and buy 16 days to prepare for a return to tourism armed with screening and treatment resources and strategies?
The main point is to smooth the curve. Most New Zealanders will get it but you don't want people to get it all at once - we don't have the hospital capacity. In Italy there are some elderly people who are being left to die without any medical treatment. Hopefully, if people get it at different times we can avoid that.
Bingo.

Yeah - they could issue a refund to people whose teams didn't get a challenge! Might catch Mark Robinson's attention!

I quite like the one suggesting that in 2033, they would be called Quaranteens...
Since someone asked what happens if entry is refused, normally people are put on the next available flight back, or not allowed to board in the first place.

@Siam not quite deserving, I could have frantically scrambled and made the last flight out tonight to avoid the 14 days, but I chose not to. Jusy too hard, too much effort to leave the family etc.
So I'm throwing my hat into the "let's wait and see what the happens" ring instead!

@chimoaus If the staff are sick, as much sick leave as they have balances for, possibly with a bit of their next entitlement in advance, and then annual leave if everyone agrees.
If it's a lack of work due to a major travel downturn, then sick leave doesn't apply, and it's whatever they agree - probably annual leave and then leave without pay, maybe a combination of the two. I'm sure the unions and Air NZ are working behind the scenes to come up with a plan that's adequate for the workers in the circumstances.
Since the government is the major shareholder in Air NZ, they could put in a cash injection if required for the shorter term, but if the business has to scale down dramatically for 2-3 years, it's probably redundancies and apologies.
