So, as of this morning NZ had conducted 7400 tests, with 102 confirmed cases (1.38%) and zero deaths, while Australia had done 135000 tests, with 1479 confirmed cases (1.1%) and 7 deaths.
The US has performed 71870 tests, with 15,219 confirmed cases (21.2%) and 201 deaths.
There a lag time for deaths. Come back to us in 10 days.

This drive through only KFC is looking like a genius idea around now. In Newcastle NSW.
My god, that's depressing. Hope that isnt a trend that will accelerate after this crisis is over. Not exactly a Napier art-deco response.

@Billy-Tell I'm just looking at the tests at the moment, and the very slow ramp up of testing there.

I just read the cruise ship that let its 2700 passengers walk off in Sydney, even though they had sick on board, is now at 48 confirmed cases. One of the most inept decisions made so far, deeming a cruise ship in a pandemic low risk.
Beggars belief. Cruise ships spread disease quicker than an old whore and sailors on shore leave.

Reports Police called to disperse large crowds at Centrelink trying to get unemployment benefits. Told to come back tomorrow. The website for Centrelink has crashed as hits went from 6000 on average to 55,000. All those people told not to worry are struggling to access the support. Plus all those people not implementing social distancing as they wait patiently.

@taniwharugby No idea how accurate those critical numbers are, the UK lists 20 critical but had more than that in deaths in last 24 hours.

Good to see the largest brewer in Australia thinking of the people.
“In these incredibly uncertain times people need some normality in their lives. They need to be able to access beer and other liquor at bottle shops,”if they close the bottle shops there will be riots
and I'll be front and centre

@taniwharugby Lets hope it remains that low and not in Whangarei Base Hospital. My mum still lives there.

@mariner4life Isn't a small amount of wine for medicinal purposes, don't some doctors say its good for you?
