You guys need to pay more attention. I have said often that I never saw the need for kids until they were old enough to:
-
stand their own round at the pub
-
Drive me home from pub
I have a short attention span so was not prepared to wait 18 years.
Me, I'm in the office talking BS to a bunch of dubious characters on the interweb. Covid-19 lockdown has really had minimal effect on me to date.

Well, i say dream, but i get bored with that really quickly, i don't like to string two sick days together

So I am at work. Roads were a bit busier than I expected. Think Sunday morning busy.
I half expected to be stopped so I had an email from the Hospital explaining how we are a vital supplier but didn't see any sign of policing.
Been around and sprayed down all door knobs light switches and other hard surfaces with hospital grade disinfectant ahead of the skeleton staff we have on arriving.
Expect and hope it will be quiet today as hospitals are our only remaining client. We will actually be a good litmus test. If we see orders spiking it's holy fuck time - effectively we will get an order every time someone is being treated.
Yeah, I'm at work too. The company I work for is deemed an essential service under "Packaging, production and processing of food and beverage products".
We all received a letter formally informing of us of this, complete with Business Address, and can be produced in case anyone (e.g. police) challenges us what we are doing outside of home when most people should be in lockdown.
All doors are open, there is usually eight in the office but I'm one of two in it (others working from home with laptop), cafeteria seating has been halved, the three shifts finish 15 minutes early so there is no interaction with the incoming shift, smokos and lunches are staggered, plenty of disinfectant everywhere (and not surprisingly some has been stolen).

I wonder if we work for the same company...…
Same for us but we had to shut down a couple of mills. Fortunately I can work from home so no need to be on site.

Another 78 today, total now 283.
-
27 recovered so 256 known active cases.
I thought the police dude gave seem contradictory info. Started off telling people they should only be on the road when travelling to essential places (work, supermarket, doctors etc) then when questioned later said people could drive to parks for exercise if it was kept locally.
I thought all the latter stuff was a no go??

Aw jeez that's dumb, make it simple, no non essential driving, that's what it says on the website

@Toddy yeah form what I gather, it is stay the fuck home!
Have seen people commenting on FB of lots of people at Mair Park in Whangarei walking...going up those tracks there is zero chance you are at least 2m away when passing people on it.

I've seen heaps of people walking/biking past home but that is allowed. Playgrounds and parks are meant to be a no-go I thought.
I think most of you would know Mark Mitchell? He posted this on FB earlier:
The COVID 19 Crisis Centre has come back to me to say advice they have received from the Transport Agency this morning, recommends that access to parks and beaches should only be by foot or bicycle but not by vehicle.
This is to try and restrict use to locals, and stop travel to other parts of the country.
This advice is in line with the statement made by the Police Commissioner.
The advice I gave this morning was based on the information I was given last night when seeking clarification for constituents.
Here are the answers In relation to some other queries that I have had clarified by Police.- You can deliver essential food and medication to your parents.
- You can drive to where you have horses that need water and feed.
I’m sorry for the confusion, but it appears that the message is now consistent and clear, that walking and biking is the only way to access parks, beaches and nature.
Please remember to stick to the rules around social distancing.
emphasis mine.

@antipodean Going to playgrounds is definitely prohibited because of the likelihood of people congregating.
Everything is reliant on people keeping 2 m from each other in other public spaces.
-
So what's the plan once there are no more confirmed cases? When does New Zealand become part of the international community again with all the risk that entails?

It'll be phased, I reckon, China is pretty much sorted so we can start with them

I'd say that the border will be locked down for a year or more, with testing and 14 day quarantine being mandatory for all arrivals.
that's a massive call

Border lock down meaning no one in or out of NZ for a year?
Whilst I have already seen the remarkable in the past couple of weeks, I would find that even more remarkable
