@Crucial I don't get it....don't you just open later if that's the case?
Yeah, but the question was about about not needing much lead in time because you would be planned up and ready to move at short notice.
I was asked what situation I would have been In and answered.
It was a useful response, and thanks for it. Of course, it was entirely personal to you, nothing else you could have provided.
But I still think my general point remains, that you would have done everything in your power to be able and ready to hit the button and get to whatever level of ops was possible as soon as you could. I didn't say 2 or 4 or 6 days was the right number, just that every business ought to try and shrink that number as much as possible.
For some it might be easier than others - say a local butcher with frozen stock or local farm supply to hand, or a cafe that deals mostly in coffee and simple food that doesn't need lots of staff or a complex supply chain.
I simply don't understand why these businesses should be disadvantaged over others.

To be fair, that’s factual.
NZ herald leading this AM with “World turns to NZ”.
What’s the basis of that claim?

as I have said all along, it is far too early to judge how good/bad her (our) respnse to this has been.
Plus, we simply dont know how we would have responded taking a softer approach, or a stricter one, right now, we just need to do best with the situation as it is, as no amount of hand wringing about the rigthness/wrongness of decisons made will change anything one little bit.
Right now at L3, the best thing people can do is continue in thier bubbles as best thye can, but go out and support local businesses offering contactless options.

That it is a Herald headline. No other basis needed
At a time when the media are crying poor and suggesting we will all lose quality journalism, they do a great job of showing what poor quality they offer.

Holy shit - the stupid really is strong in my area. So many FB stories and posts about folks hitting Maccas etc, dumping rubbish and driving to other areas as local outlets are super busy. I imagine a lot of folks are far healthier than they've been (diet-wise) and are jumping back on the takeaway wagon boots and all.
I totally get wanting a treat or reward for doing it tough, and that we all crave normality. But this is just mental imo.

There were some drunk people letting off fireworks and chanting "level 3! level 3!" at midnight in Auckland CBD
-
@Paekakboyz we ususally have a takeaway on Friday night from the Turkish shop, we wil be doing this on Friday, no need to rush out today
I am picking up a bottle of bourbon tomorrow from the bottle shop, so tomorrow I'll be going for my 2nd drive since the 23rd of March.

Forgive my cynicism, but I don't really think the heavy takeaway consumers will have been healthier. It will have just been frozen processed shit from the supermarket fried up rather than maccas.

Some people down the road from Mum and Dads did that too. We have horses (so do others around) so my old man was pissed as he rushed around the place making sure we didn’t have any animals through fences.
I don’t know how my mother stopped him from going down there and starting something.
(NB: Only a few ppl in the country area where we live do fireworks and usually only at guy fawkes)

The other half did. I've learnt to tolerate instant coffee.......Jesus. What next ? popping to the bottler for Lion Red or Waikato Draft if I'm not careful.
In happier news I get to see my boys this avo for the first time in a month and I CANNOT fucken wait

Damn straight. Without delving too much into my personal life the ex and I mutually decided that it was too tough under Level 4 for the boys to see me. If we had a more volatile relationship ( which we don't , she's great and we get on brilliantly ) I would have definitely argued it as I'm assuming lots of people did. Sunny day in Welly, I'm shooting out there this avo with rolls, salami and fizzy drink. Magic.

I might play this song when we see eachother.
