There's only a handful of COVID-19 cases now in Scotland and Wales. I think the ABs games scheduled there for later in the year will go ahead.
Fingers crossed, but a long way to go yet.

Things seem to be pointing towards getting back to normal here in Cornwall too. Restaurants are taking bookings again, loads of visitors and the Holiday village down the road fully-booked until Jan 2021.
People seem to observing the spirit of distancing etc and being cautious and sensible. No great rise in infection rates so far according to local reports.

Didn't think you frequented these places anyway

@Crucial That’s quite funny but you do know that @Bones lives in St Mary Cray which enjoys a similar vista?
Exactly. I guessed that his pony wouldn't be able to pull the 'house' all the way there for a holiday so he'd just rent temporary digs

Probably Sowton but tempted by Broadclyst.

In normal times I'd have said forget Sowton, nice village but Does. Not. Have. A. Pub. However, not quite so relevant these days

@Bones Ah. I see you have done your research somewhat better than I. However if you still can't make up your mind then I would point out that whilst Broadclyst is that bit bigger offering more opportunities for stealing and dog-napping, the overall wealth profile is higher in Sowton. Better breeds of dog and of course more valuable jewellery. More bespoke and less H Samuel.

So went camping over the weekend, down the south coast. Was a good weekend, and was quite happy to hear my wife o the way home say "it was good fun and I enjoyed it, but it's not really a holiday - more of an adventure". something I totally agree with.
Anyway, so the number on Saturday was much higher than previous, which obviously pointed to a second wave coming ( as per UK reporting incompetence, turns out most of them were from ages ago). So I think we all became acutely more aware around social distancing etc. And on the whole, I think people are working together. Orderly distanced queue's where required, loads of hand sanitiser readily available, and people just sort of getting on with it.
Recent communications are certainly much more focused about learning to live with it, as opposed to eradicate it. Probably not much choice now to be honest anyway.

UK Gov Stats
The rate of deaths from all causes in June 2020 was 742.0 deaths per 100,000 persons in England and 837.5 deaths per 100,000 persons in Wales; both mortality rates were significantly lower than the five-year average (860.5 for England and 924.0 for Wales), though small increases in rates are expected over time as more deaths that occurred in June are registered.
So less deaths during a pandemic when preventable deaths from non-treatment are a supposed big issue?
Am I interpreting these figures wrong?
