@taniwharugby come to ‘Straya mate. Team Melbourne needs another player. Everyone has turned on us 😉
Queensland has turned on Sydney as well because of you blokes. I'd complain about not being able to travel to visit my Mum but I don't want to risk a @taniwharugby tongue lashing.
Just do it, he won't remember in the morning
TBF, I can just rock up to Tweed and walk around to see her.

@taniwharugby fair enough mate👍

the postive testing of this virus seem to be all over the show??
A second possible positive Covid-19 case, involving a traveller from Auckland to Sydney, is being investigated, and two new cases have been caught at the border.
The women travelled on July 20 and tested positive on day 2 of their stay in managed isolation in New South Wales.
Prior to departing Auckland and since being in Sydney, the woman, who has been in quarantine for 12 days, has displayed no symptoms. The ministry has already spoken to her and said she appeared to be a previously unconfirmed case from March.
“This is likely to have led to the positive test result.”

Begs the question, what is the point of being a New Zealander?
Enables me to not have to beg the Australian Govt for permission to leave.

Info about the "Covid Card" that they're trialling in Rotorua.
Identity Card that you have to have when out in public? Yeah nothing worrying about that

I guess he’s referring to this:
I'm thinking we have moved on as a species since then
Wishful thinking. The potential for misuse of a national ID card that tracks citizens movements is immense. It's a totalitarian's wet dream.
It'll start with the best of intentions (giving credit here), but history shows (even recent history) that humans are tribal and love to put people in groups. These sorts of tools lead to very horrible outcomes.
While we sort out how to deal with this pandemic it's important we don't throw away hard fought for freedoms.

It's always interesting watching how these debates pan out.
The optimism and faith of @Hooroo versing the cynicism and doubt of @Kirwan ?
It is likely that somewhere in between lies the best answer.
I'm a cynic of course so that is where it lies for me.
My starting point is we have a Prime Minister that unironically uses the word comrade.

That doesn't scare me in the slightest

It probably should given the history. Try using the word "Nigger" too.
Ultimately they are only words but they do have historical significance.
