Four people and you're at level 3? Well this is clearly a repeatable long term policy.
I'm for it. Medium term.
Seems better than the other option. Stagnation. And majority of people avoiding society and the economy anyway
Would hope for better than 100 days covid free though.
Go hard and early again . Try to nip it in the bud. We did it before from a bigger base. This could be a compararive breeze . Then return to the awesome last 3 months we've just had
For how long? Happy just do this forever?
Probably this is the last attempt. I'd be prepared to go for one more after that if get another good run.
Eventually citizen fatigue would make it futile. But in the mean time you've bought your self another 6 months to a year close to vaccines and retroviral.
And lifestyle been comparatively good getting there. Tbh. Kids at school, commumity sport, socializing, domestic holidays, and economic activity back to not too bad.
I've yet to see a more attractive economic or societal alternative.

@voodoo Holding pattern bro, if we can make it till some form of vaccine etc then that's the end goal. No idea if it's actually viable but I'm in no rush to put our medical system to the test if it spreads wide.
Has our system been tested???
That's a rhetorical question btw
We moved looong ago from "curve flattening " to "total elimination "

Our "gold standard" contact tracing is about to be tested though.
It's so good we have to shutdown most of the country to use it

four people so schools close, bars and restaurants close, too bad if you planned a wedding for Friday and had guests travel to attend.
And people think this is a good idea

After going for flattening the curve we (accidentally IMO) found elimination tantalizingly close, went for it, and it has been well worth it .
If we'd known how 'easy' it was back then ....

Easy to achieve, totally destructive to maintain

Yeah, let's wait until its 100 and then shut down (probably entire country by then) for twice or 3 times as long but then maybe only ever partially reopen. Good plan.
Or
Close down 1 city immediately for a fortnight and then totally reopen. -

@canefan the timing is right for conspiracy theorists that's for sure.
I've seen a few already, an irony is that if you were going full conspiracy; on current poll results they'd have buried as much as they could until September. Or Jacinda would have done a Muldoon and drunkenly called a snap election for Monday...
