Black Lives Matter

@Bones I don't see the overall aims of BLM as anti-Christian. That is where I disagree with Billy V.
But it's a choice. I am fine with him or anyone else not kneeling if they didn't want to.
I really doubt whether Billy V kneels or not influences the decline of racism in the UK.

@sparky said in Black Lives Matter:
Billy Vuinpola, like his pal Israel Folau, has criticised Black Lives Matters:
"Vunipola told The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast that his views were based on what he perceived to be the âburning of churches and Biblesâ in the name of Black Lives Matter. There is little evidence to support the claim that the movement has burned any churches."
Translation: Billy is full of shit.

No they have just torched entire neighbourhoods with those buckhead PAntifa boys. BLM in the US is anti Christian, their leaders based the ideology of the movement on Marxist problems.
People are reading the so "systemic racism" crap without looking at what it means. If they had just found used on police brutality in the isolated incidents I would agree with that, now they want reparations. Wake up guys.

Was taken aback at his comments but checked out them out and he's not exactly wrong,
BLM leaders like Shaun King have called for churches to be destroyed as they represent white supremacy and there have been a number of suspected BLM-related fires, In Portland BLM protestors burned bibles "as Jesus is portrayed as white"

Sauce for the BLM goose?

Could Oxbridge be next? Unlikely with the liberal left UK judiciary.

I don't know the whether or not what Billy said was true (it seems plausible, IMO). I was merely commenting on the way in which The Grauniad commented on his comments.

This will be a proper culture war standoff in America. Army sergeant driving for ride sharing firm in Texas encounters BLM protestors, one of which is legally carrying an AK47 which he points at driver whilst mob shakes car. Driver shoots him dead with a handgun, someone else in BLM shoots at car. Driver speeds off, turns himself in to police. Gets released without charge.
Awful, tragic, wouldn't have happened if guns weren't so prolific, but how do you put the toothpaste back in the tube?

Impossible. I certainly dont blame the driver in that instance

So George Floyd wasn't murdered.
Fentanyl and methamphetamine plus 8 minutes of bodycam footage of civility, procedure and acquiescing to Floyd's request to not in sit a squad car but to lie on the ground. No signs of racism and much evidence of a man struggling with drugs who repeatedly tells police he can't breathe.
Once again we've all been fooled, quite understandably in this case, by a video being matched to a narrative. Same thing happened with the Covington kids.
There's no way Chauvin can be found guilty of murder, except for an OJ Simpson placatory verdict. The other police officers have been surely exonerated. No neck or chest trauma from the autopsy.
People have already burned cities based on a murder that fits no legal definition
So what's it to be? Will legal justice or social justice rule over this case
This is going to be a big problem... again.

Desperate pleas and desperate actions from a desperate man.
Please, please tell me at least one person from the BAME 'community' was involved with the autopsy.
Otherwise it's going to read 'Autopsies Are Institutionally Racist' and BLM will whip this up some more.
-
@MiketheSnow they don't need FLoyd, the can move seamlessly to the next one
Unarmed guy shot in the back 7 times, while his kids watch on.
America is fucked.
-
@Frank did you catch the guy that got swatted for playing video games loudly? That was ugly as f
The cops knocked on his door then stood out of sight and didn't identify themselves. The guy opened the door and had a gun down by his side as he looked who was there. Sees a cop and declares he has a gun, then starts following instructions to lay down etc. Then the cop standing off to the side started shooting and that's that.
Everyone one of these seems to go back to training and police culture - with a number having that added dimension of race.
-
Out of interest what should the cops have done here?
Are we at the point where cops should just let violent criminals murder them to prove they are anti-racist?
@Paekakboyz yeah that one was tragic alright, not that anyone gives a damn as his skin colour doesn't fit the narrative. Not worth burning neighbourhoods down for that.
-
@Rembrandt Do you think BLM should morph into a wider reform/retrain police movement rather than solely focusing on the treatment of Black folks by police? so they become advocates for all races?
