.................. on the divisiveness scale, from 0 to Trump, where would Biden sit?Good point.
The senility scale on the other hand...........
This is a guy who cannot get through a teleprompter speech without sounding like a decrepit 98 year old.
He looks tired and slurs his words.
It's an absolute scandal that he is not on the campaign trail campaigning hard 2 months b4 an election. -
im not sure how divisive biden is...but its almost not about how divisive...the countries already divided...its about his ability to reunite isn't it?

Yeah that is the challenge alright and I don't think Trump or Biden have that ability over the next 4 years. After that though it might be possible. I think Tulsi Gabbard after that could have that ability. Also what are peoples opinion of Rand Paul? Despite a BLM mob attacking him and his wife he actually wrote a bill called the 'Justice for Breonna taylor act' which seeks to prohibit 'no-knock' warrants. Maybe we just need the next generation to come in and right the ship.

Trump told Sarah Sanders to 'take one for the team' after Kim Jong-un wink
President Donald Trump shrieked with laughter and told Sarah Sanders to “take one for the team” after she caught Kim Jong Un giving her a flirty wink at a leaders’ summit. The bizarre anecdote comes from the former White House press secretary’s new memoir that is set to be released next week. In a preview seen by The Guardian , Sanders claims that, during a summit in Singapore in June 2018, she looked up “to notice Kim staring at me. We made direct eye contact and Kim nodded and appeared to wink at me. I was stunned. I quickly looked down and continued taking notes… All I could think was, ‘What just happened? Surely Kim Jong Un did not just mark me!?’” Later, in the presidential limousine, Sanders told Trump and his then chief of staff, John Kelly, what happened. “Kim Jong Un hit on you!” Trump said. “He did! He fucking hit on you!” The president is then said to have joked: “Well, Sarah, that settles it. You’re going to North Korea and taking one for the team! Your husband and kids will miss you, but you’ll be a hero to your country!” Trump and Kelly then “howled with laughter,” according to the book.
LOL.

You have to buy in to the Trump idea that Biden is a puppet of the far left nutters to even imagine any equivalence, and that's just fiction - whereas we know what you get with Trump, and it's a fucking catastrophe in terms of dividing the country.
My view is its the media not Trump that's dividing the country
Blaming the messenger?
Never thought I'd see the day when you stick up for Fox news mate😉

My point exactly.
Having watched my Dad go through this I find this very sad.
And very disappointing and disturbing that his family can't see it and pull the pin.
And downright irresponsible that the DP are still putting him forward as Presidential candidate.

What's Kamala like on law and order?
She's not white and she's not male. Querying her policies, therefore, is probably regarded as racist and sexist.....

One thing is for sure, whichever team loses will accuse the other team of cheating in some way on the mail-in ballots (either suppressing them or fraud or coercion).
Clusterfuck incoming.
Made worse if the result is close. If it's clear cut it will be harder to argue

Both parties who are not in power tend to gaslight their supporters against the President. However, the left's gaslighting against Trump has been particularly violent. I don't recall prominent right-wing people speaking in these terms about Obama with such regularity and severity.
However, while the gaslighting might have motivated the vote against Trump, it might also turned recent protests into riots. This video could probably be much longer.

@Frank he does attract extreme opinions though. Way more than any other in memory.
When you approach things the way he does, by belittling and bullying and constantly tells lies to the extent that it becomes a normal thing, is there any wonder that the reaction is strong?
He has deliberately lowered the position to that of the street then complains that he gets no respect.
None of the outcomes surprise me. -
the US really does just seem too divided, in lots of different ways, to really "work" anymore
i did some reading a while back, lots of different theories on how the US should be split up into different countries that wold theoretically work better, obviously all fantasy stuff but interesting
-
@Crucial
I accept that to a certain extent.
But I think it is still is far out of proportion.
Severed heads of the President, plays depicting him being assassinated, threatening to blow (in jest) up the White House.........
Perhaps some of that can be explained by the virtue signalling Hollywood trying to outdo one another. -

They’ve always been divided.
The Mason-Dixon Line is a clear divider for many.
However they have also seen some benefits in joining at a federal level.
I doubt you could create geographical divisions that would not have the same ideological problems -
Here is some classic Joe , at least this election might be entertaining , anyone else find it weird out of 330 million people, it comes down to these two ?
-
@kiwiinmelb I know right? This is the country that built the Hoover Dam, sent men to the Moon, built a fighter plane that is invisible to radar. And the best they can do is choose someone to lead the country from these two scrubs??!!!

Perhaps some of that can be explained by the virtue signalling Hollywood trying to outdo one another. It's worse than it's ever been, but it's not necessarily a Trump/Democrats thing. It's just a continuation of a 25+ year trend.
The left/Dems did it to GWB, and then the right/GOP did it a bit worse to Obama (birther controversy being a decent example). So the left/Dems go harder at Trump.
It's worrying for whoever comes next, whether it's four more years of Trump or a new Biden/Harris regime. As we have said many times on this thread, the whole system is broken.
