It just gets better...
It's the kind of thing you hide from contact tracers, right?
So the 21 year old was in contact with someone in the other household or he was covering for his mum?
-
@nzzp yeah why?
I think someone mentioned above maybe the 21 yr old was meeting up with a daughter in the household he shouldnt have, which is why they didnt disclose it, but in this case, they have disclosed all sorts, why hide this one??
FFS, people cant have thier heads in the sand so bad and not realise the risks of hiding this kind of info!

I think that was me thinking out loud. But maybe it was the mums all along and he was being the good son and trying to cover for her? Either way its fucken annoying. Hopefully now they know where everything fits we will be released on time

Considering other things that the government has claimed and been found to be wrong, I'd like proof that the family were informed

Reading the headline she knew she was infected, so why would she need to be told to self isolate? That's like needing to be told the sun will rise tomorrow.

Just re-read it. Says infected, not symptomatic. I'd like to think the ministry were correct and the piece is a irresponsible effort by stuff. But they have been economical with the truth before

Because lots of people can't (or won't) think for themselves. And just trust the experts (and maybe thats wise in these weird times). And if she felt fine ...
So to be fair there is a need to find out what exactly she was told if possible. And in situations like this she should be given very clear written instructions to follow anyway

Got a text from MoH saying she didn't need to supposedly. Easily checked at least, and embarrassing for the ministry if that happened.

Jacinda's messaging is apparently too long...
And some people don't like to be told what to do by the government. Young people need to be told by young people. Can we stop making excuses?

The message was also 'Too Pale' when the article was first put up this morning. I wonder what changed for that to be removed.
And at the bottom of the article Stuff will earnestly ask for donations. And they'll continue to be surprised when most people don't given them a cent...

Young people to Government – 'Your message is too old, too stale and way too long'
Everybody else to young people - 'How about - sit down, shut up, and listen'It's like ADHD has become an ambition, rather than an affliction.

@kruse From the Ferald:
KFC worker wants apology from PM
Case L told Discovery the Prime Minister's comments - that she should have been self-isolating - were "upsetting", and she wanted an apology.
"It's not fair on our end that we're getting all this backlash for something that we haven't actually done," she told Discovery.
Ardern's office said letters from public health were sent to the family on February 17 and 19 saying they needed to be tested. Case L's family said such advice was never received.
"If they tried to contact us multiple times and send us letters and stuff, where is this evidence?" she told Discovery.They've dared her to produce the evidence - I suspect they don't think she's got the balls to throw them under the bus. I can't see that she has got a choice but to do exactly that. It's no less than they deserve but it certainly won't be very kind.
