Crusaders v Brumbies
-
@ARHS the statistical likelihood of the Brumbies winning away to the Crusaders is probably lower than in any other game across the season. So makes sense to tick off a bunch of forced rest periods in a throw-away match.
And yeah SR is a fucking joke and we shouldn't have signed up for another 10 years of this nonsense.

Thought Patafilo would just make up the numbers. I was sorry to see him leave the Canes as he was good in last yrs NPC. Hope he performs well in his brief spell starting until better players return
He was good off the Bench last week.

Brumbies on the other hand lose a lot of strength resting Slipper, Valetini, Samu, White and Wright
this comp fucking sucks. This should be a premier match up
Nothing to do with the comp. Thats down to resting policies in a RWC year from national unions
In the 2023 Super Rugby competition. @mariner4life is bang on the money; this should be a primetime, bums on seats fixture.
Don't disagree. Just thought he was blaming the comp rather than the resting policies.
so you don't disagree, you just felt like being a pedantic dick, for a change

It's what keeps them coming back and pays the bills...

I think the Brumbies had set this as a can't win, why they rested players this week, surely last week was the time to rest a few.. Not sure what the problem with the comp is, they do same in NH, as players have to last the season, and high attrition rate.

I agree, but it seems to be what they have done, we see it in WC where minnows play second stringers against top teams.

It could be winnable the Crusaders have 14 players out injured, many from their top 23.
Jordan,Reece,Goodhue,Havilli,Grace,Whitelock,Newell,
I don't understand why the Brumbies rested players. -

there's an enormous difference between Namibia v the ABs
and the Brumbies who like to bill themselves as a heavyweight and potential winner of the competition.

@mariner4life they arent winning the competition.

No argument from me mate, I am pretty oustanded at the Brumbies attitude, FFS they had MP last week, why the hell you wouldn't rest players then is beyond me!

RA resting policy for RWC year. I don't know how it works but maybe they were counting on a loss here anyway?
Yep they must have had it all mapped out as a rest for this week.
-
Makes the Crusaders path a bit easier if teams don't target them. A bit of an advantage?
-

@mariner4life they arent winning the competition.
Why not? They came within a whisker of the final last year and look a better team this year.

definitely not now
imagine being the coach trying to get your players up to play the Crusaders in a semi?
"aw yeah i know i said we couldn't beat them last time we played them, but it's totally different this time"
fucking loser talk
-
@Derpus said in Crusaders v Brumbies:
@KiwiMurph they won't be able to make the top 2 and therefore won't get a home semi. They won't win a semi in NZ let alone a semi & a final in NZ.
I'm not sure what you've seen so far that leads you to that opinion. They've already beaten the Blues.

So the Crusaders are missing Finlay Brewis, Oliver Jager, Fletcher Newell, George Bell, Mitchell Dunshea, Quinten Strange, Sam Whitelock, Cullen Grace, Taha Kemara, David Havili, Jack Goodhue, Sevu Reece and Will Jordan? Or did I forget someone?
I thought you were naming the team there!
