Coldplay won't be touring because it's bad for the environment.
Excellent news.
Didn't they jump on a plane to do that interview where they announced that?
If so that is just too good.

It was in Jordan.

Greta wrote an op-ed this past weekend. At least she’s not even pretending her activism is just about the environment any more. She’s got biggger fish to fry.
Why We Strike Again
[...]
That action must be powerful and wide-ranging. After all, the climate crisis is not just about the environment. It is a crisis of human rights, of justice, and of political will. Colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression have created and fueled it. We need to dismantle them all. Our political leaders can no longer shirk their responsibilities.
[...]
The claptrap about colonialism, racism, patriarchy and oppression are straight out of globalist Marxist training manuals.
-
@Salacious-Crumb Colour me shocked!
It really does suck that most environmental activists plans seem to involve some form of genocide.

That's why Nuclear is never on the table for these types of people. All that does is produce clean energy, it doesn't dismantle the patriarchy.

I'm missed this gem by those that control Greta.

Oh shit, always check the awesome thread. Forehead slap for me @antipodean

You would think that - as something unlikely to turn a profit pretty much ever - nuclear would attract a few in that area. Its far more socialist than coal, and heckin more environmentally friendly.

The new [hot by politicians standards] Finnish pm is left wing and pro nuke . @JC put me onto this , its interesting. Shellenberger calls wind turbines" bird blenders " apparently they have been quite hard on bat populations in the Uk too
-
@jegga I've been following Mike Shellenberger for a while, he has a fascinating story around being part of the team that convinced the Obama administration to pump massive funding into renewable's like wind and solar and how they just didn't cut it, and even worse devastated local animal populations like birds who have never had to deal with avoiding giant blades swinging in their path.
-
@No-Quarter have you read this about turbines helping almost wipe out a bat species in the Uk? Theres one of his kind left.

Pretty easy when you've got a couple floating around, and have to support one of the most expensive builds to date in Olkiluoto 3.
15 years construction but will get them to 60% nuke
-
Its hard to find out the truth about anything today. Unfortunately money can sway the whole process. That's why the world have sunk a lot of money into these awful wind turbines.
But I do like the look of these mini nukes. And they can use up a lot of reprocessed so called nuclear waste
Nuclear waste is recyclable. Once reactor fuel (uranium or thorium) is used in a reactor, it can be treated and put into another reactor as fuel. In fact, typical reactors only extract a few percent of the energy in their fuel. -

The bomb at Hiroshima consumed about 0.7g of matter; less than the weight of a banknote. It's simply amazing.
