Inspired by a chat on the other thread with old mate @Virgil I decided to watch The Running Man before the Rugby.
It is sooooooooooooooooooo 80s ( yet hilariously is set last year ) and Arnie is wooden even for him 'Hey Killian, there is sub zero....now plain zero' and the vision of the future is laughable in lots of ways but you know what? It works and it rocks. Fucken good entertainment, great supporting roles ( literally everyone is Oscar worthy compared to the Governator ) and a satisfying finish.
4 stalkers out of 5 runners.
Dammit, now I have to find it somewhere online to watch! Really hope they do a proper version of the book in the future, my favourite Stephen King book (along with The Stand and The Long Walk).
The long walk is a threat little story, have read it multiple times. Like how subtle King is throughout with how different history turned out.
Great idea for a contest too, grab 100 teenage shits and make them walk non stop to they drop.. and earn their ticket -

TAG - supposedly based on a true story of a bunch of mates who for 1 month every year, play TAG, and one of thier mates, has never, ever been tagged! So story is them trying to finally get him.
Had some funny moments, Isla Fisher is hot and crazy, Annabelle Wallis is hot too
3 tags out of 5 outrageous escapes

Jurassic Park, Fallen Kingdom
Pretty much as expected, decent movie, with the expected kick arse CGI.
Thought the scene when they were sailing away from the Island was pretty sad, even for this type of film, TR Jnr reckoned he almost cried.
Was an amusing headline in the BBC screen ticker at the start of the movie:
US President questions existence of Dinosaurs in the first place
3.5 more billionaires decide they'll succeed out of 5 Jurassic movies

I really enjoyed the first Jurassic Park but I think I have up on them as a series during the second one when Jeff Goldblums daughter did some gymnastic move and kicked a raptor to death.

Mission Impossible: Fallout.
What a great movie. Twists and turns and awesome stunts, even a smidge of humour here and there. So nice to watch an actual smart action thriller, and one where everyone is kick ass.
5 rubber masks out of 5 the red wire in my right hands.

Saw two films on the plane,
Lara Croft, tomb raider. Don't take it at all seriously and it was a fun mindless watch. And Alicia Vikander is sneaky hawt. 3.5 pouts out of 5 flesh eating diseases
The man from UNCLE. Great retro look to the film, one of the better things I've seen Henry Cavill do (which isn't saying much), it was a fun 60s style spy flick complete with dapper suits and exotic locations. Oh and the aforementioned Ms Vikander. 3.5 American bugs out of 5 superior Russian bugs

Speaking of Henry Cavill, came out yesterday that DC wont be using him for future Superman or JL movies. Came about from unable to secure his appearance in the new Shazam movie next year.
They also talked about focusing more on Supergirl. Wtf
Think DC have finally lost the plot here, having already lost Afleck and now Cavill. -

That's the problem with DC - they can't tell a story so even quality actors appear wooden with the material they're given.

Just like Star Wars. Some would say....

@virgil cant recall where I saw it, but werent they going to have Catwoman as Lesbian?
Obviously the tight black leather and Lesbian scenes wont be an issue, but the simple fact that they are changing the character who is in love with Batman/Bruce Wayne and I think in one of the DC Universes has a kid with him as well is just weak.

She just married Bruce Wayne in the comics, so not sure that is right. They have Batwoman as a lesbian to cover that market anyway.

This comment triggers me like you wouldn't believe.
You wouldn't believe how offended I am.

Yeah Damian Wayne, Talia al Ghul’s son. If I remember right, they stole Batman’s spunk or drugged him and got her up the duff.
Trained him as a ninja. I think they may have killed him recently, although I’ve seen stories where he becomes the Batman too.
Fun character because he’s a complete arsehole, and Batman is always having to stop him killing the criminals

Solo - good fun.
4 Westworlds out of 5 Mothers of Dragons

In an effort to try and actually do things together in spite of a newborn in the family we've watched a couple of movies lately:
Deadpool 2
Fucking awesome, heaps of funny moments and some nice mocking of the PC culture. Julian Dennison was good too, the kid has some talent. 4.5 X-people out of 5 robust teenagers from NZ.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
Fucking fantastic film, and not what I expected. Some great humour mixed in with some dust in your eye moments. Woody Harrelson was excellent and Frances McDormand was absolutely superb. 4.5 racist cops out of 5 unsolved murders.
