  • Fifita was great last week deserves the start.

  • Competitive squad. Solid looking forward pack. If we can dust the Force up front we should have the strike power to finish them off. Skudder is a big blow purely from the fact that he can turn nothing into something.

  • Where is Pita Ahki ?

  • NMH out for the Super season 😞

  • Need to win this week and next week which will put us in a good position for the bye weekend.

  • Damn that sucks about Skudder. Quite easily one of the top 2 or 3 exciting players in Super rugby.
I haven't watched a Force game this season, anyone know how Peter Grant has been playing?
Read this from the preview on the Force website:
    Did You Know?
It is 10-years and one week since Cameron Shepherd scored a try in the corner against the Hurricanes and converted his own effort to hand the Force their first ever home win, 18-17. Interestingly, current Western Force scrum-half Alby Mathewson was on the losing side that day, starting in the No.9 jersey for the Wellington side.https://www.westernforce.com.au/article/looking-ahead-–-western-force-vs-hurricanes#sthash.U0RdPxm6.dpuf
I remember that game. Tana gave a great post game interview in his praise for the Force and Cam Shepherd.

  • I liked the black strip. Not so keen on the yellow though.

Forget the footy, it's the Hurricanes' outfit we need to talk about. Having played in, predominantly, yellow in the opening two rounds, the team unveiled a black ensemble at Eden Park.

The yellow, which has it's own unique sponsor, is for overseas games, apparently. Only the broadcasters felt black and blue might clash when the Hurricanes met the Highlanders, so they were told to wear the yellow. Or is it more mustard?

The black strip certainly channels Wellington's kit of the mid 1990s, which has disappointed some fans. They believe a yellow shirt has always been synonymous with the Hurricanes and want that to remain the case.
The team will be in the black outfit when they host the Western Force in Palmerston North on Friday night.

  • The yellow strip with the black shoulders looks ridiculous from behind. The yellow adidas stripes come over the shoulders like braces and when combined with the same colour shorts it looks like lederhosen or kids short dungarees. The Crusaders red strip with the black shoulders has the same effect.

Agree. The black with a bit of yellow looks good. But the design at the back. It looks silly

  • call the fashion police

  • NMH out for the Super season 😞

    Dammit.
He is bloody made of glass though. He seemed to go off injured every other game last year.

  • he is a pretty fine piece of glass though 🙂

He's had a few shoulder issues so hopefully this will sort it out.

Unfortunately still available and selected even though he is shit, Jason Woodward

    The very best sort 🙂

  • fag

I'll get David to dob on you to the ref.

  • cant dob in INternet tough guys!

  • Blade gets a great steal and TJ immediately bangs it out on the full to hand back possession. It's like his mind and body are a bit out of sync. The mind is going at a million miles an hour but his body can't quite keep up.

  • What dickhead decided to have the refs also wearing matching yellow shirts?
And is it a coincidence the refs are sponsored by specsavers - bloody hell they sure need specs if they couldn't see Coles bang that down for a try

  • Could this game be any more dull and could the Force fullback be any more hopeless? Scared of contact?

  • Holy shit this rugby is just so so shit. Comedy club

  • I have only seen one Savea playing since the start of the season and it ain't the All Black no. 11.

  • That was a tough watch.... at least I had my wife telling me about her day at work...cos that was actually interesting.
Could be a very long season for canes fans this year.
Julian was bloody ordinary under that last high ball

  • I acquired a new television during this past week and to me the flood lights look to be rather dull. Is anyone else experiencing this or is it something that needs to be adjusted on the new TV?

In case anyone is wondering the score at halftime is Hurricanes 10 - 03 Force

Not as bright as big grounds... but still able to see sharp shadows of the players on the ground. ...

  • Force are one of those annoying teams, kinda like that addage of arguing with an idiot and he'll bring you down to his level and beat you with experience....

  • TJs pass seems laboured at crucial moments and a few getting loopy when going wider from the breakdown

  • Battle of the 7s has been good - both have been really impressive in their own ways.

Julian Savea continues to look like an All Black on reputation alone.

  • I reckon this is s good game to watch. Finishing has been a bit off, but force have done well with turnovers.
Hurricanes score and take it out above a converted try.
    15-6 with 22 to go.

  • TJs pass seems laboured at crucial moments and a few getting loopy when going wider from the breakdown

His passing can best be described as wildly inconsistent.

  • Moving away now.
Perenara scores and my picking is fucked.
    22-6 with 15 left.

  • Excellent try Canes. They bought the Halaholo dummy.

  • Lovely try.

  • Bloody hell.
    29-6 with 10 left.

  • Laumape too strong.

  • Good reward - he's played very well.
34-6 with the kick to come and still 8 minutes left..

  • Scrappy first half, which many games that involve the Force are, but we've got the job done and will happily take the 5 points with a very comfortable win in the end.
