Almost certainly something more to this. Mention made of something going on the day before? Probably he gave some wrong info and they put a safe-guarding block on his account. These days large withdrawals of cash are rare and questions would be asked.

I posted the link in this thread because of old mate's explanations of why he was withdrawing funds. E.g. getting shredded for festival season, anal bleaching, etc.

Most banks are closing brannches, all over the world. They are not often used and have massive costs
